We have a young, single mother of 3 children (ages 1, 4 and 5). She is experiencing unstable housing and financial stress. The mother is a victim of domestic violence and is trying to keep her children sheltered and safe from harm. The mother has been residing with the maternal grandmother in a single unit apartment with the children. The MGM put the mother and children out on yesterday and stole the mother’s food stamps from her EBT card. The mother is not able to purchase any food for herself and the children. She was able to get a room in Hollywood through PATH and is awaiting placement in a DV shelter. DCFS and the agencies involved with this family are working tirelessly to find a residence the mother and children. The mother can be reached on her cell phone and the CSW is able to correspond with the mother accordingly. We are hoping that a donor will pick up this request and provide the family with a $300.00 grocery gift card or purchase food for the family so that the mother and children do not go hungry.

We have a mother who has a six-month old baby that is teething. The mother is very resilient and is thriving with all of her programs she is involved in. She is a domestic violence survivor and is using her experience to build and grow within her life. She is in therapy to address the concerns that brought her family to the attention of the Department. She is a domestic violence survivor. She is a good mother who truly cares for her daughter. During our meetings the baby is always smiling and giggling. Recently, the baby began teething and is in need of hypoallergenic-silicon weaning cups, baby spoons, feeding set, and food making system (NutriBullet). I am in hopes that some of these items can possibly make it to her.

I am currently working with a single mother who is currently in the hospital about to give birth. Mother has a open case with her six year old daughter. Mother has successfully secured housing and is in complete compliance with all court orders. We are tying to prevent the Department from detaining the newborn. Mother needs to have basic necessities when the Department goes to the hospital. Mother has most of the items but not the car seat. Mother continues to work very hard to reunify with her daughter and is following all court orders and recommendations. The case put a financial strain on mother as she had to attend various classes throughout her dependency case and purchasing new items to prepare for the new baby. Mother would be grateful for any assistance , thank you in advance.

Hello, I am working with a 12th grader that has been absent often due to the parent not having enough money for gas. The parent had surgery done and is possibly having a second surgery, the parent has been out of work due to her medical situation and is struggling to provide for her family. While the parent gets back on feet and starts back at work we would like to offer them a $400 gift card to help out with food, gas and other daily items they need. This will improve the well being of this student and sibling and also improve their attendance in school. We appreciate any help that can be provided for this family. Client is a single mother of1 month old baby living with parent at this time. Family source of income comes from public benefits and seeking employment in the near future after family finishes program activities. Family has been active and participating in our maternal and baby health program since March 2025 and continues to be. This is a father with current child welfare involvement. Father has one child that is currently released in his care. The department has informed the father that he needs two dressers in order to prevent a cluttered home environment. If father is blessed with the two dressers, it will prevent the department from having concerns in the future and allow the father to move forward with the closing of his case. Current non-minor dependent recently moved into an apartment with his dog. He isn't able to work right now due to an injury so he is tight on cash. He needs a couch and refrigerator. He would be much more comfortable with those items and could focus on healing properly.

The family has a history of homelessness. The family just recently moved into a new apartment. Mother and the children have no furniture nor beds. The family is currently sleeping on the floor on top of blankets. Which it is very uncomfortable for the children to get a good night's rest and be prepared for school. The family does not have any couches or a dining room table. The mother will be greatly appreciative with assistance with beds or furniture for her new home, which will provide a safe and stable living home for the children. A Walmart gift card could assist with some bunkbeds or pull-out couch for the children to sleep on.

Single mother currently has an open DCFS case related to domestic violence. At this time, the mother has her child in her care and is actively participating in all required case plan services. She is currently unemployed and is in urgent need of assistance with transportation. Specifically, she requires a gas card to help her transport her child to court-mandated visits with the father. Due to the child’s autism diagnosis, public transportation is not a viable option for these visits. Providing her with a gas card would greatly ease her stress, support her compliance with the case plan, and allow her to better focus on both her services and reassuring her child during these challenging times.
