Sherry:
We have a good trundle bed…one bed pulls out from beneath the other. Including mattresses. Let me know if this is something you can use instead of bunk beds.
A kinship foster family, located 1 1/2 hours away from the biological parents, is currently caring for two children who were recently removed from their parents home. The foster parents where the children have been placed have not yet been approved for financial support. The foster family is eager to supervise visits and support the children in maintaining contact and attachment with their parents, particularly during the holidays. However, they face a barrier due to their limited income and disability. Child Welfare Services (CWS) is requesting assistance in the form of gas cards to enable the foster parents to drive the children to the visits, allowing for increased family time until they become approved foster parents. This support would be beneficial to both CWS and the children in maintaining their connection and aiding in the transition. We kindly request you to please consider helping this family.

Hello Church Network! We are making a request for a laptop computer, or better yet someone who has a laptop and wants to assist a volunteer board in Marietta. My name is Keith Pirtle, and I am the program director for PARB which is the (Post Adjudication Review Board). PARB volunteer’s help monitor and support juvenile court proceedings across the state. There is an active board that meets every 3 months at the Courthouse in Marietta to review child welfare cases and make recommendations to the Judge Hicks. The board has recently been required by the state to track their efforts through an online computer system. Unfortunately, no one on the board has a laptop they can take to the meetings to complete this requirement. If you have a spare laptop or want to assist with these efforts, please let me know.
Please respond to this request and I will get back to you on any questions or details you need answered.

The department has been working with a dad with 1 child in a Family Center services Safety Plan, to prevent the child from going in custody. The father of the child is the primary support in the family, and he has been working hard to complete his services. The department is reaching out for help in covering this cost for the family. As those results are critically needed in being able to further provide support for the family by the department. In fulfilling this request, you would be ensuring the family is given the best opportunity to be successful in the family center service case and receive the support they desperately need. The department would look for other resources to help dad with a refrigerator. The dad on my caseload is moving into his new trailer home this this week and he will need a refrigerator. Any support would be greatly appreciated or if you know someone who can donate or refer dad to a gently used refrigerator, he would grateful! Thank you! Updated on November 30, 2023 by an Agency Worker Any used or help to find a cheap fridge, will help.

A single mother of 4 is in need of some assistance with furniture. The father of the 3 youngest recently had a mental health episode and he can no longer assist with the children physically or financially. This has caused a significant amount of strain on the mother. There are 4 children, 2 male and 2 female. There is an age range from 17 Y to 8 months old. Her home has beds for each of the children but lacks a dining room table, and couches for their 2 living areas.

The Child Advocacy Center routinely provides interviewing services for children who have allegations of child maltreatment. The Center provides comfort items for the children after their interview is over. The most common comfort items are stuffed animals. The children need new stuffed animals for sanitary purposes. The investigative process can be tough on the families and if a child can have a moment of joy picking out their favorite stuffed animal, then a small part of the process can be made easier for them. The age range we serve is 3-17.

I have a four year old boy who has been placed with a foster family for almost four months now. The foster family loves this boy and has gone to great lengths to accommodate him and his disabilities. Though this boy has been spending time in a center for specialized care, he will be discharged soon, and the foster family is trying to get everything ready for him so that the transition back into the home is as fluid as possible. They have requested clothing for this boy because he is growing out of the clothing they have, and also because the clothing they send with him to the center after a furlough does not often return with him. This boy loves all things Mickey Mouse. He loves playing with jumbo blocks and his cars, so that kind of image would be appreciated as well. This boy is in a size 5T and is in need of fall and winter items such as: long sleeved shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, pants and jeans, jackets, and a coat, gloves, and hat. He is still in potty-training and the foster parents are also requesting pull-ups with Mickey Mouse on them. Thank you.

DHS is working with a family in a family preservation case to help a family create a better living situation for their child. They do not have working hot water right now and they had a leak they didn't know about so their water bill is extremely high. They have purchased the piece needed to fix the hot water tank but cannot afford to hire the plumber to come to the home. They have gotten an estimate of 400 from a local plumber and after calling several in their area, this is the cheapest quote they have been given. The child doesn't have hot water for a bath because of this issue and parents are having to turn the water off and on any time they need to use the bathroom or cook. The home is in need of a deep clean and having this water issue resolved will aid them in their cleaning. In addition, the family has been told if their water bill isn't paid by the first of the year their water will be cut off completely. The provider is not willing to work with them. They owe 1500. The child is a wonderful, well-developed, sweetheart and his parents have been incredible with DHS. They are compliant, willing to improve their situation, they are open to services, and willing to learn. Resolving this water issue and having assistance getting their water bill paid down will help the family tremendously. Thank you for your assistance.

A single mother needs a Crib Mattress. A crib was donated to her, but it has no crib mattress. She also needs 3 dressers. She needs two dressers for boys and one for a girl. In addition, she needs a microwave stand and would benefit from a donated area rug to go under her children's bunk beds. If this need is met, it will allow her children to have needed items and will allow her something to put her microwave on. She really needs the crib mattress as soon as possible please. Used items are fine.
