I Am Next is a Middle TN based nonprofit that works with youth who have aged out of foster care. We have a unique volunteer need!

We have a young adult in our program who has completed and passed most parts of her GED test except the math portion. She struggles with this subject and asked our staff if we could help her find a tutor for math so she can retake that portion and pass! If you or someone you know feels as though they could help with this, please reach out.

A single mother with 3 children, two girls and a boy, is in need of school uniforms for the upcoming school year. Regular school uniforms polo style shirts and khaki, black or navy blue pants. The family has very limited needs. The father is in jail. The family is also in need of groceries/food. Children's sizes are as follows: 8th grader girl: M shirt in juniors and size 5 pants in juniors 5th grader girl: L shirt in girls and size 11 pants in girls 1st grader boy: size 7/8 or M shirt in boys size 7/8 pants in boys Any help is greatly appreciated!!! The mother and children were apart of a serious domestic situation where the father barricaded himself into the home and LE had to use gases to get the father out. For the mother and children to be able to move back into the home ServPro services need to come in and clean. The mother has three children (12, 7, and 11 months)

FSSW Worker went to the family home for a home visit and was informed by the mom that the children and herself needed mattresses due to the current mattresses being worn out and uncomfortable. Mom has 4 minor children in the home and is unemployed. Mom stated that someone gave her plat forms for beds but she does not have the financial resources for new mattresses and she has not thrown the old ones out because she does not want herself and her children sleeping on the floor. Mom stated that she would need 2 twin mattress, a full mattress, and a queen mattress.

The family is needing immediate hotel support for 7/11 and 7/12. Fiscal has paid for a hotel but due to a car show in the area the approved hotels are not available until Sunday. The family is looking to stay at the Holiday Inn in Mt. Juliet. The hotel is for 2 adults and 2 children, needs two beds.

The mother and her children were the victim of gun violence and domestic violence by the mother's ex-boyfriend. The mother is working to rebuild their life as she works through the grief of the loss of a child and critical injuries. The mother is in need of food assistance. The mother is also in need of a car, the incident took place in the mother's vehicle, a car is a big ask so also looking for any resources that could assist with transportation. (Resource Linkage will connect the worker to Mechanics on a Mission to assist with fulfillment of this need once it's funded)

This request is for a young mother currently experiencing financial hardship. The only source of income in the household is the birth father, who is working to support the family; however, the income is limited and not sufficient to cover all essential needs.

The mother is in need of the following basic items:

Baby clothing – Size 3–6 months, appropriate for the summer season

Diapers – Size 2

Hygiene supplies, including:

Shampoo

Toothbrush

Deodorant

Soap

Laundry detergent – For washing clothes for both the mother and the baby

Any assistance with these items would greatly support the family during this challenging time and help ensure the baby's needs are adequately met.

This is an IPA placement for a newborn infant (approximately 7 weeks old) who was removed from the biological mother due to substance use during pregnancy. The child was placed with her maternal grandmother, who had to stop working temporarily in order to provide full-time care. The infant will begin daycare next week, which will allow her to return to work and begin receiving income again. She anticipates being able to cover her monthly expenses starting next month. However, at this time, she is struggling to pay rent and utility bills for the current month due to her inability to work while providing care for the newborn. The caregiver has full custody of two other children, increasing her financial responsibilities. The caregiver is in need of temporary financial assistance to help cover rent and utilities for this month only. This is a one-time request to help stabilize the home and support the caregiver in maintaining the placement until she resumes work and income.

The legal guardian of the child is requesting support due to financial hardship. The guardian’s only source of income is a disability check, and she is currently unable to afford the following essential items:

A new refrigerator – The current refrigerator in the home is broken and not functioning.

School uniforms for the child, including:

Polo shirts (size 8, any color)

Skirts and pants (size 8)

Any assistance or referrals to community resources that could help meet these needs would be greatly appreciated.

The child is at high risk of being placed in custody. The caregiver is trying to provide the child with therapeutic services to address violent, destructive behaviors. The caregiver has reported a financial need for bus passes for herself and the child so they may take the bus to therapeutic services. The cost is an estimate for the two full calendar month local bus tickets. The passes will be utilized to attend therapeutic sessions to address the conflict in order to keep the child in the home.

Worker is requesting assistance for a local family of 5. The family had a water leak which resulted in an extremely high water bill. This bill impacted their ability to pay their car note, resulting in the car being repossessed. Worker is requesting assistance with obtaining funds to get the family's car back as this is their only means of transportation. The father is the sole provider in the home and the mother utilizes the vehicle to get the children to school and therapy.

A 36 year old mother of 5 children (11, 10, 9, 6, and 5) had to recently move to a new apartment due to a domestic violence situation that cause her and her children to be unsafe at the other location. The mother is needing assistance obtaining a bed for her 3 girls (11,10, and 5). The three share a room and is currently sleeping on an air mattress. The family is willing to receive any assistance that can be given. A bunk bed and a toddler/twin bed (with mattresses) could be beneficial for the family. The mother is currently looking for employment but also has had some transportation difficulties.
