Kinship foster parent took seven children into their home. They are taking the last two siblings this week and need one chest of drawers for the children being placed. The kinship home is not receiving any payments at this time and need help with this item. It will help preserve a placement and allow siblings to all be placed together in one home.
Kinship foster parent needs help with an exterminator. They took placement of seven children, when the second bunch of children were placed in the home they brought roaches in with them. The kinship foster parents are not getting payment yet and are unable to afford the exterminator as their money is going to care for the home and children. Please help to preserve this placement.
Hi there! I have a non-paid kinship placement that is in need of some financial assistance. They have fallen behind on some bills and would greatly benefit from any help that you may be able to provide. Again, this is a non-paid kinship placement and they have been such a blessing to the girls placed in their care. Any help you may be able to provide would immensely appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your time and consideration!
Please help us strengthen this single mother by assisting her with paying her court fines. This single mother has overcome her addiction to alcohol and is maintaining her sobriety by attending treatment. However, in the midst of her addiction she accrued several fines that resulted in her license being suspended. She is now having trouble getting to and from services as well as having trouble accomplishing daily parental duties as her driver's license has been suspended. Please help this mom cover her court fines so she can get her driver's license.
Mother of three has taken placement of four children who are related to her. These children were removed from their past placement and in need of immediate care. Maintaining this placement would keep the children near family and reduce the trauma of relocation. In order to effectively keep them in her care she is in need of transportation that would accommodate all seven children, two of which are still in car seats and one in need of a booster seat. She currently drives a car that seats five and is unable to coordinate transportation to and from school or even take everyone out for fast food. DHS is hoping to at least be able to assist foster mom with a significant down payment or tax and title for her to purchase a vehicle that would meet their needs. However ideas for assistance of any type would be welcome.
Biological mother is in trial reunification with her two children that are of ages 5 and 7. Biological mother is needing assistance with some home items such as 2 Storage bins, 1 book shelf, some drinking cups, hangers (for clothes), and a lamp stand. Biological mother does not ask for much and she does not receive much financial support so often she is taking care of more urgent needs such as her children. Please assist this mother with these items.
Becky:
First Baptist Church Tahlequah can provide these items. What type / size of storage bins does she need?

Becky:
Still waiting on description of storage bin sizes needed. Also (I texted the worker today with these additional questions), what type of "lamp stand"?
This need is for a mother and child who have recently reunified. The mother frequently rides her bike or takes the bus. This one child bike trailer/stroller would allow her child to not have to walk so far to catch the bus and enable her to take the bike when necessary. The one that I found to be the best bargain is at Walmart and is the Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Child Bicycle Trailer & Stroller. It does not need to be this specific brand and can be donated one that is donated rather than purchased new.
We have a family, whose children have been put into a kinship placement. Two of the children are school age and to be able to get them from their kinship home to school, which is about a 45 minute drive each way, they need monetary assistance in the form of gas cards.
Young mother is trying the get her driver's license reinstated. The Department of Public Safety requires that she take a drug and alcohol assessment to do so. The cost for the assessment is $160. Mother is being very vigilant is engaging with her treatment plan for the Department and has been testing negative for our treatment plan. However, the DPS requires a very specific drug and alcohol assessment in order to issue a driver's license for individuals with prior convictions.
Please help strengthen this father. He has lost his job and place to live. He only has his car left and is need of assistance with his car payment, so he can get to and from services for substance abuse treatment. Please help strengthen this father by assisting with his car payment so he can get to and from treatment.
Worker has a low income family that is in need of a bunk bed to help house their three girls in the same bedroom. Currently, the child is sleeping on the living room couch, and the family does not have the funds to be able to meet the need. A triple bunk bed would be ideal for the family if at all possible.

Hello there. I have a family who is in need of some assistance paying their water bill. Two weeks ago, one of their children (he is 2 years old with a birthday coming up in April) came down with a very bad case of RSV. He had to be hospitalized for 3 nights. As he began to recover, the rest of the household became ill. As a result, the family has faced some unforeseen financial hardships (caregivers missing work, multiple doctor's visits, paying for medications, etc.). This family would really appreciate any kind of help you may be able to provide at this time. Thank you so much in advance for your time and consideration!
Hello there. I have a family who is needing assistance with some bills. They have had some unforeseen financial challenges over the past month and could really use some help. The family is currently in trial reunification and they have been working very diligently to become a happy, healthy, successful family unit again. Any assistance you may be able to provide would be immensely appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
This is a single mother with one lower elementary aged child. Due to circumstances out of her control, she and her child have been left without a vehicle. They are in desperate need of a vehicle. Her daily routine involves walking her child to school, then walking to work, followed by walking back home and returning to school to walk her child back home. This does not include the times she has to get groceries, take her child to the doctor, etc. Many times she has to depend on friends to get her to those places. By helping this family, you would be breaking down many barriers that stand in the way of success for both of them. Not to mention the safety that could be provided by filling this need.

I am working with a foster family who has placement of an 11 month old boy. He is becoming mobile, and the family has been able to obtain some safety devices for the home to help with physical safety. However, the foster family is still lacking a baby gate and has requested assistance in getting one. The space where the baby gate is needed is 90 inches in length, and would greatly help this family. We appreciate any assistance that can be offered.
A local group home would love to make a day trip for a teen very special. An outing in February is planned for this teen and the GH staff would love to make this a day just for him. They plan to attend an event he is very interested in; the Monster Truck Jam. They also plan to go out to eat, buy souvenirs, and just make the day very special for him. This young man has been in this home for a number of years and he has formed many friendships. Some of his group home peers have moved on however, and they're move has put a damper on his spirits. The staff at the GH would really love to make the day very special and just for him.
I am currently working with a maternal grandmother who has taken placement of her two young grandchildren, ages 17 months and 3 months. This foster mother/grandmother is in need of a dresser to help store all of the baby items such as clothing, diapers, wipes, etc. for the children. She has utilized some of the space she has, but is currently folding clothes and lining them along the wall as she does not have anywhere to put them. This grandmother would greatly appreciate assistance in obtaining a dresser so she has a place to put the children's items. Thank you in advance for whatever assistance can be provided.
I have a family who is attempting to get reunification of their three children. They could use assistance with heaters as they do not have heat in the home. Additionally, due to dad working lawn care, their income is very limited right now so they could use assistance with groceries. Also, they have a window in their home that needs replaced. They could use assistance with a new window and/or installation of the window.
Hello! I am an OKDHS Family Centered Services child welfare specialist. I am reaching out on behalf of a family currently involved in a FCS case. This family consists of 4 small children and a single parent. The parent has asked me to assist in obtaining some items to help make their house a home. Some things they are in need of are: Cleaning Supplies, 2 Medium sized couches, a dining table and 4 chairs. Some other items that would greatly assist in the parent sompleting all necessary case plan tasks are: Work Shoes and a Buss pass. The children are in need of Toys for ages 1-10 yo and pull ups size 3-4. Thank you for all that you do!
The teen placed in the home is in need of a dresser, as hers broke. New or used dresser is appreciated. This will help preserve the child's placement. The bedroom is small and can only fit a slim dresser if possible.
