The family needs assistance with funds to move back home to Louisiana where the family support is. The family is a family of 7 and has limited support here in TX. The mom is wanting to move back to LA and does not have the money to afford the Uhaul. Budget truck quoted $400 for a one way Uhaul rental from here to LA. Being back in LA with family would be a better for mom and the children.

I have a mother of an 11 month old child who is in need of a walker type toy to help promote walking for him. He is also in need of 12-18 month learning toys as well. Mom and Dad do not live together and neither one of them are working at this time. They do have a support system, but they are helping them with their child's basic necessities like formula/food, diapers, wipes and clothing. They do not have the ability to buy him toys that stimulate his learning.

I have a 17 year old boy on my caseload who is learning how to cope with music. He stated music helps him when he is upset. We are trying to look into getting him a MP3 to help him not have any bad outbursts.

Would you be interested in helping a nearby laundromat provide tutoring for kids while their parents do the laundry? A local business owner is looking to create a win/win situation for parents in our community by helping tutor their kids while they do laundry. Dates/times are flexible. Guys- I am excited to announce the new Watermark Care Portal. In Acts 2, the church was meeting tangible needs in the body and had everything in common. I know that many of our hearts align with wanting to meet any tangible needs that we can both inside our church and inside our community…the challenge is that we either aren’t aware of these needs in a timely manner, OR don’t even know that they exist. Our WM Care Portal will IMMEDIATELY send tangible needs from each of our community partners (Academy 4, The Net, Pregnancy Help Center, or Dash), or from a select group of caretakers within our community (Child Protective Services, school district and others who help with crisis situations with vulnerable children within our community).
How does it work? Although Care Portal has a global database where you can see all kinds of needs, only direct emails will be from WM directed at our immediate vicinity. If you can help, GREAT! you would just respond to the email, and BAM- get after it (all or partial)! As the outreach director, I will be copied on the replies so I can know how to help you if needed. If you CANNOT help, no worries!
