Good afternoon! One of our parent support providers is working with a mom in need of help in the following weeks with transportation. She has a few trips to make out of the city to take her child to specialty care. We are hoping to get a gas card to help the mom alleviate some financial stress. Any help is appreciated! The Department is currently working with a 17 y/o youth (f) who is working towards her independence and learning her independent living skills. This youth has been in care since 2021 and has struggled to stay stable in one placement and to experience stabilization. This youth is about to graduate from high school on May 13th, 2025, on time, as school was a priority for her regardless of her instability. This youth has experienced instability just two weeks prior to graduation and needed to cancel many of her prior appointments. This youth is not able to fund an appointment to get her nails done which she was looking forward to, to feel good for one of her biggest accomplishments. This youth would love nothing more to have money to get her nails done! Anything and everything is so appreciated to help this youth feel as special as she is walking across the stage!!!

We have four children needing birth certificates in order to help facilitate a kinship placement and are need of funding for these certificates.

Hello! We are working with a grandmother who is helping her daughter in reunifying with grandaughter. She is retired and low on funds. She is hoping to get help with a gas card to help with the expenses to and from. We are trying to get casework to help cover some costs, however, unable to determine possibility as of yet!

A two-year-old girl was placed in the care of her older sister. The kinship provider has one child of her own. The kinship provider had a reduction in work hours causing a significant loss of income. The kinship provider is struggling financially so, they are not able to purchase diapers/pull-ups for the child. The family is requesting help with diapers size 4 or pull-ups size 2T-3T or a gift card to Walmart to help purchase the items listed. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hello! Working with a grandmother who has recently taken kinship of her grandchild. I’m reaching out on behalf of a deeply loving and dedicated family in our community who is in urgent need of support. They have a young child with autism spectrum disorder who is incredibly bright and curious. Like so many children on the spectrum, he sees the world a little differently—and that includes the way he explores it.

Despite the family’s best efforts, their child has a tendency to elope from the home. He is nonverbal, which makes these situations especially frightening. He’s smart—so smart that even when the family thinks they have it figured out he waits till they are unexpecting and is a step ahead. What works one day might not work the next. They stay vigilant, constantly updating safety measures, but it never feels like enough. Their home, which should be a place of peace and comfort, has become a source of anxiety and sleepless nights.

This family isn’t asking for much. They are seeking help with obtaining reliable door locks, window guards, and door alarms—the kind of tools that could literally save their child’s life.

If there is someone in the community who can help provide or fund these safety tools, it would mean everything to this family.

There are two youths who are going to return home with their mother, and they are in need of a bunk bed. This will assist the mother to provide a bunk bed for the youths and to return home with her.

Child age 6 months old is placed with maternal grandmother. This placement change is new and grandmother needs help obtaining a swing set and spit up rags. This baby struggles with active reflux and spit up. Caregivers report that she is on a new prescription and that it is helping with her spit up but at times she is not keeping her bottle down. Grandmother reports that she cannot afford to get her a swing set at this time but would like some assistance in getting her a swing set. Child age 6 months old was recently placed with maternal grandmother and her grandchildren. Case worker observed the family having propane tanks in the living room; caseworker asked why the tanks were in the home. Caregivers reported that neighbors tend to steal their propane tanks and that they bring them into the home at night. Case worker suggested getting a bike chain and lock to secure their grill and propane tanks outdoors so they do not transfer the tanks back and forth into the home. Caregiver agreed to living them outdoors and getting them secure outdoors. Any donations for a lock and chain would be appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.
