But when she got the call for a sibling set of three bonded sisters, she couldn’t say no. Ms. S. recognizes the importance of keeping siblings together. Now she is requesting help from us to assist with getting all the necessary items for all three children. She is in need of 2 twin size mattresses plus box springs. She was able to obtain the bed frames for the beds, and is reaching out for help with purchasing 2 twin size mattresses plus box springs to complete the beds. Caregiver needs a gas stove. Caregiver has been unemployed recently and has been looking for work but has not been successful. Although, caregiver is having that challenge, caregiver is meeting the basic needs of his family. Furthermore, caregiver is committed to care for his family. During my work with caregiver I have identified the following strengths: Father is determine to provide a safe home for the children. Caregivers goals are to find stable employment, to continue to raise his children and to provide a safe home.. For these reasons, I am advocating for caregiver to have the need identified met. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is because it is very important for the family to be able to prepare food for the youth. Family is not able to cook foods in the home making it challenging to feed the children. This need is critical to ensuring that the children remain healthy and strong. DCFS has assisted the family by providing with referral to DPSS and nearby food banks. DCFS will continue to link the family to community services such as counseling, etc. in order to ensure the family remains together. For other items needed, I will explore other DFCS options for funding and in-kind donations. This need is being requested through Care Portal because unfortunately DCFS does not provide this item.

Parent is requesting support from the community to assist with providing for a few items for her family. Parent is a full time student trying to better herself for her children, but with the limited funding she obtains for her children, she only has enough for rent, food, bills and personal items. Family is in need of table, sofa, pans, pots and a full size bedframe and mattress. Providing this items for the family will bring them together for family time in the living and dinning room. Providing a full bed would help a young tall teenager feel comfortable in her own bed that doesn't feel small.

A single mother of a 10 month old needs monetary assistance in making ends meet. Mom was recently laid off from her job, as they lost the contract with the apartment building that she would clean. Mom was getting paid in cash as she is undocumented, which has made the job searching process a lot harder. Mom and baby currently live with her sister. Sadly, mom shared that there was a recent DV situation at the home between her sister and her brother-in-law. The authorities were notified and her brother-in-law is no longer living in the home. Prior to the brother-in-law's removal from the home, mom had given her share of rent money to this individual but unfortunately he took the money and left; leaving mom and her sister owing rent. Mom's sister is also undocumented and struggling to find a job, the brother-in-law was the provider of the house. On behalf of mom, I am asking for assistance with paying the electric bill ($867.13) and the gas bill ($158.91). This way, they can use the money they have to pay the rent for July. Any amount you can donate to help this family out will be greatly appreciated. Mom has signed the necessary consent forms to be contacted in regards to this request. Thank you so much !

This family consists of a single mother and her children. The family has had some challenges with a teenage daughter's mental health. The mother is very hard working and works long hours to meet her children's basic and emotional needs. The mother is supportive of all of her children and doing everything in her power to provide a safe, stable and nurturing home, but recently the family's refrigerator broke and there is no money left in her budget to replace it. Your support in getting this family a new refrigerator would really go a long way in supporting this single mother to ensure her children have safe food to eat at their home.
