A biological father, who has visitation rights, is working to regain placement of his son (8yr-old). The child has a half-brother (9yr-old), who is also in need of a bed. The family has secured bed frames, with built in box springs. The boys will be sharing a room, and it is imperative that the child has safe, adequate sleeping arrangements. The child has had minimal contact with his father, brother and step-mom, and has suffered tremendously while in the care of his biological mother (including foster care placement).

Hello! I have three children in foster care where a maternal uncle has been identified to be a potential resource for those children. He is working to become a relative foster home for them but one of the requirements to be opened/approved as a relative foster home is to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. He has been working hard to be approved and working hard on making home improvements but has recently lost his job. Due to this his finances are limited and go towards meeting the basic needs/bills to get by daily. He is in need of at least two smoke detectors and one carbon monoxide detector which will get him one step closer to being able to be opened as a relative foster home for these youth.

A brother and his wife have taken in the younger brother. The brother and his wife are quite young, have a baby and one on the way. The wife is a high-risk pregnancy and unable to work. The brother works and they have been able to support their family on his income; however, there isn’t money for extra expenses at this time. The mother of the younger brother is unable to provide for the younger brother at this time and is struggling with her own issues. There is little communication or support from the mother at this time. The younger brother is in need of clothing, as he arrived without much of anything. The young brother is starting a new school and could use appropriate clothing, especially with the colder weather approaching. The young brother is facing a lot of changes and the older brother and his wife are doing the best they can to support him. Assisting them with purchasing clothing will alleviate a financial burden and help make the young brother’s transition to a new school a more positive experience. I am working with a family who has served as a foster home in our county for several years. This family began fostering with the intent to adopt and is certified as a pre-adoptive home. Over the years, this family has opened their home to a number of children in need, and they have been lucky enough to adopt a sibling group of two children from foster care previously. They currently have another child placed with them who is still in foster care, and this case is very close to the final trial which would allow them to eventually adopt this child as well. This family truly believed that this current foster child would be their final placement once her adoption is finalized. Recently, it became known that a sibling to this foster child was born and is now in need of a home as well. This new baby has higher needs than a normal newborn would, and will require lots of love, patience, and attention. She is a tiny 6 pounds, and remains in the hospital at this time. Without hesitation, these foster parents have opened their home to their current foster child's newborn sibling. The foster parents have never had a newborn infant placed with them despite their years of service and have absolutely no baby supplies. This family is in need of: 3 newborn sleep sacks 3 crib sheets 3 burp cloths 6 bottles 6 newborn bottle nipples 3 NB binkies Pack N Play Changing Table and pad for table 2 changing table sheets newborn diapers baby wipes any other baby items that are donated are welcome!

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care

I am currently working with a grandmother who is caring for her two young grandchildren. Grandma does suffer from medical issues as well as mental health issues that prevent her from being able to keep up with housekeeping. That and the grandchildren are young and very active. Grandma has been able to find someone she trusts to help keep her house clean twice a week but due to the financial constraints of caring for her grandchildren, she is unable to afford to pay the cleaner. Grandma is unable to work due to her medical issues. The money would be used to help pay for the cleaner to avoid the grandchildren from having to enter the foster care system.

Hello, I am working with a young, single mom who is working on finishing school. Her child is 6 months old. Mom's financial resources are incredibly limited due to her age, and caring for an infant while trying to complete her education. Mom was hoping for help with winter clothes for the baby girl. For the winter, the child would be 9-12 months. The baby girl turns 1 this winter so would also benefits from 18 month old winter clothes. Thank you for your consideration on this matter! I put a "guesstimate" limit, I know mom will be grateful for anything.
