Natural parents in need of assistance with fuel cards for case related transport, prepaid phone minutes, and 31-day Tulsa area bus passes (one for each parent) to assist with service provider engagement.
Minor child set to age out of OKDHS custody 12/9. Due to unforeseen circumstances, not the fault of the child, Job Corps start date has been delayed until January 2023. OKDHS wants to ensure the minor child has access to resources while living in transitional care between again out and the January start date. Request for prepaid cell phone minutes, gift card for meals, funding for Driver's License (eligible to obtain at 18), and to ensure child can report to Job Corps in January.
This request is for a single foster parent who is fostering a sweet toddler. She is needing help paying for her rent this month to offset another cost at no fault of her own. She is needing help to pay $160 off of her rent. Helping her with this payment will help this foster mom maintain her bills and support her through when she had additional payments required at no fault of her own. Please consider blessing her and helping her through the Christmas season! Thank you for your consideration.
I have a Mom that is in need of $50 to enroll her son into daycare and begin taking him to the facility in order to begin working at her new job. I have a dad that desperately needs his home to be serviced for an infestation and assessed for living conditions by a professional. I have a young man in need of clothes, shoes, a full sized bed frame, mattress, and box spring (if applicable) for a teenage boy who has out grown his bed, clothes, and shoes. Clothes size for tops: kids medium, bottoms: kids medium. shoes 6.5 to 7 Updated on December 01, 2022 by an Agency Worker Mom Needs the $50 daycare enrollment fee before the end of the week so that she may be able to start her new job position sooner than expected (YAY!) to ensure she has an appropriate caretaker for her 2 year old son. Thank you!
Biological parent in need of assistance obtaining reliable communication (prepaid phone), a state ID/Driver's License, and transport assistance for services. Parent is in need of these items in order to obtain employment. Parent has unsuccessfully interviewed with multiple employers since OKDHS intervention as these barriers continue to present themselves (Parent has been offered positions only to learn they do not have the proper records to provide their perspective employers). Parent has engaged in services prior to development of treatment plan and appears highly motivated to reunify with their children. Even limited to WiFi texting applications and/or email on WiFi for communication, the parent has maintained contact with the department. Parent has walked to services due to limits on transportation. "Bus Pass" requested funds can be used to purchase Pelivan tickets which operates within Claremore City Limits. Tickets are "one-way". $30 will allow for 5 round trips (10 one-way tickets). Worker is requesting gift card for "Lyft" as they operate in the Claremore area and can offer outside of city limits transport and do not have schedule limitations like Pelivan. Pelivan charges $2 per mile outside city limits which will add up and stops service at 4:30p on weekdays. Pelivan also requires 24-hour scheduling whereas Lyft can be ordered anytime the need is present.
I am working with a young single mother and her two very young children. The mother is currently enrolled in school full time and is working full time as well. She is the sole earner of her family and has minimal outside financial support. She has overcame a lot in the last year on her own to better her and her children's life. She recently told that she is stressed out due to being short 200 dollars on rent. She said she has reached out to resources in her community for assistance but has not been able to find the financial support. If you feel you are able to help out this mother and her children with any amount of the $200 of the rest of rent please reach out as soon as you can. Thank you for your help with lifting this family up!
Mother in this case needs assistance with an uber gift card. Mother has completed services required on her treatment plan and is in trial reunification with her daughters. Mother does not have consistent transportation. If this need is not met if will cause a children to miss weekly Occupational and Speech therapy.
The children were recently placed in the care of their father who was recently released from prison. He is residing in a controlled setting which has been deemed safe for the children and child welfare will continue to be involved. The father obtaining physical custody of the children was very unexpected. The mother would not send any clothing with the children and the father does not have the income to buy the children a lot of clothing. The children are both in need of clothing. It is a boy who wears 14/16 and a girl who also wears 14/16.
We have 1 year old child who is in need of a crib with mattress. The foster mom requested one from Fostering Connections awhile back however when the bus came this month she was informed they were out of cribs and not able to meet this need. Any help is greatly appreciated and we would be very grateful for a used crib as well. Thank you!
Foster/Adoptive family in need of financial assistance to schedule professional carpet cleaning for four rooms in a duplex. The two year old in the home has been removing his diaper at night and urinating in the floor. They have been using store bought sprays and a carpet shampooer but would like professionals to help clean the remainder as well as the rest of the home.
A single mom with three children and currently expecting number four needs help. She is desperately needing three twin mattresses with box springs and a queen mattress with box springs for her and her children. Mom is trying very hard to get on her feet but is having a difficult time. She is being discharged from the hospital following back surgery today, and she will be sleeping on a loveseat until a bed is provided.
Hello, We are interested in helping with the twin mattresses and box springs need. We have found affordable, high quality air mattresses that self inflate. As well as, sturdy steel bed frames that the mattresses would sit on.
Would that be acceptable as a mattress and box spring need listed?
The foster parent is in need of a stroller for her 3 year old foster child. She requested one through fostering connections and was told they do not have any strollers at this time. The foster mom would like to take the children on vacation and it would be helpful if she had a stroller for the 3 year old to use during various activities. The foster mom would be happy to get a used stroller as well does not have to be brand new.
I have an 8 year old boy on my case load who struggles with significant bed wetting. He shares the room with his older brother and the home has a total of 6 children, so he becomes embarrassed often when he is changing his sheets each morning. He is a deep sleeper and efforts to alleviate the issue have not been successful yet. He struggles with his self esteem at times because of it, and it could make a huge difference in this little guy's life. I have put on requests in the past for a TheraPee Mat and we have seen great success with the use of this mat in particular. It is pricey but it is a great system that has proven success with several kids on my case load in the past. This item can be found on various sites but on Amazon it is $300.
I am currently working with a child (7 years) who has been severely mentally abused by his mother. I have been working with the mother and father (two separate homes) for over three months. The mother continues to verbally abuse this child's well-being to the point of possible irreparable damage The child's father is considered safe with DHS and is wanting to gain full custody of his child to prevent the child from being placed in foster care. Even though the father is doing everything he can to protect his child, he does not have the financial means to obtain an attorney to secure the safety of this child. Legal Aide services from all avenues have been explored without success due to the mother using the services before which creates a conflict of interest. The father is not looking for a cash payment to receive services, just a referral, free service, or payment to a legal service to obtain soul custody.
Foster parents are needing assistance with a repair bill within the home. Foster parents are potty training 2 of 3 children who like to sneak away and flush items down the toilet. They have previously paid out $1300 for this repair, and are needing help with the remainder. The final bill is $566. This foster home does a ton for our kids and this unforeseen issue has taken them by surprise financially. The Department has received a copy of the final bill and the amount could be paid directory to the vendor. Anything would help at this time. Updated on October 25, 2022 by an Agency Worker Total amount remaining to assist this need as of 9:30am 10/25/2022 is $366.
A mother of 4 is in need of help. They had escaped and fled a domestic violence situation. They found refuge in a shelter. Now, mom has been able to obtain housing! She's worked very hard and will be able to have a home for her and her children. Providing furnishings for this family will allow them to be together. It will create unity in the family dynamic between a mother and her kids. While she had some things in storage, she does need a few items that need replaced.
Mother and two children, boy age 3 and girl age 7. Beginning the transition of having the children in the home with mom. She just got a place and needs furniture for the home. They are basically starting over with an empty house. Bedroom furniture for mom and the two children who will each have their own room. There is a stove in the house but no refrigerator. There are washer and dryer hookups but no washer or dryer. It would greatly help to have these items as mom doesn't have transportation and getting to the laundromat would be difficult. Thank you. Updated on September 12, 2022 by an Agency Worker Mother and children are in the home and close to reunifying. A refrigerator is needed for this family. They currently are using a mini fridge but could use a full size.
We have a table with six chairs. The table is 44”X 72”. Will that work?
