Hello! We have a family in need of assistance with rent as soon as possible. They are past due on their rent for January in the amount of $550. The family had their baby earlier than expected, but dad has continued to work and mom returned to work 9 days after having the baby. They are working very hard to adapt to life with a new baby and get caught up on their bills. The family and the case manager has contacted several resources, but none had the funds available to help. If anyone is able to help with the full amount or even a portion of the amount, please reach out.
A 18 year old non-minor court dependent is currently working and attending school at Mt. Sac with the goal of transferring to a four-year college in two years. The youth is goal oriented and motivated. The youth is currently in a transitional housing (THP) program placement and doing well. The youth lacks family support to meet his goals and relies on DCFS and his THP program for support. Youth's current bicycle has broken down several times and is now not operable. Youth is in need of an electrical bicycle to help him get to work and school, specifically during after bus hours. Youth would greatly appreciate if a donation can be made to help purchase the electronic bicycle found on Amazon to help support the transportation need.

Father and teen daughter just moved into area from Atlanta due to domestic violence. The teen daughter came from Atlanta pregnant and baby was just born this week. Father and daughter have been living with a friend until this week the father has secured a apartment for he and teen daughter. The father and teen daughter are in need of queen size beds. These beds are most urgent and other furnishings are secondary.
Thank you for considering. Father is also requesting dishes and kitchen furnishings. Workers know that family has no furniture except clothes they came to Kansas with.
I am a case manager for our Gang Reduction & Youth Development program (GRYD) working with youth ages 10 – 15 years old. I am currently working with a family of 6, primarily with one youth who is actively involved in our pro-social activities by attending Baking Class, Gaming, and Photography. Family is very consistent in attending meetings and participating in community events. Youth is an 8th grade attending Pacoima Middle school and in the Cadets program, soon to graduate to enter high school. The youth that I work with shared a bunk bed with his older brother, but unfortunately because of wear and tear the bed broke and fell apart. The family kept the bottom mattress and the brothers take turn sleeping on the bed and on the living room couch. Youth is in need of a queen size bed that he can share with his brother. Youth is too tall and big to fit in a twin bed and because the amount of space available youth and brother would benefit from sharing a queen size bed. This gift will not only directly help the youth I am working with, but also his brother and will alleviate the family from stress and worry of not being able to financially provide a bed for their sons. Both siblings will be able to get a restful night of good sleep, it will promote more energy for the following day at school which will help them stay awake and focus in class.
Below are a few options I found on Walmart website:

A single aunt is willing and able to be placement to her 4 year old and 5 month old nieces after her mother gave notice on being placement due to some health issues, however she is short a bed for the 4 year old. She does have 3 of her own children living in the home. In order to make the placement work temporarily, she will be having her 4 year old niece sleep in her 9 year old daughter's bed and her 9 year old will be sleeping in her room. Placement is looking for a twin size bunk bed for the 4 year old and the 9 year old as the 4 year old is tall for her age and may not fit into a toddler size bed and the 9 year old will not fit into a toddler size bed.

Hi I just received a call from this single mom who has been staying in motels because her sister got a boyfriend and her and her kids had to leave their shared apartment unexpectedly. She originally came from West Texas to get away from a domestic violent situation and moved in with her sister. She is waitressing and doesn't have a car. She ran out of money today and her kids get off the bus at 3:50. She needs money for her motel room for a couple more days until she can get into a shelter. Her plan is to go to the police and have them find a shelter that will take her but I wanted to see if her room could be kept through the weekend. The cost of the motel room is $65 per night. Requesting $195. It would be very helpful to get her through this weekend until further help can be found on Monday for housing.
Kayla was not sure what she was going to do with her pregnancy when she first came to A&A. She was separated from her husband and had gotten pregnant with another FOB. That FOB promised to help with financial expenses associated with having the baby, but now that she's had the baby, he has been telling her he won’t help anymore financially if she doesn’t agree to his demands.
Kayla parents 4 children and shares custody of the first 3 with their father. She worked 2 jobs while pregnant and was able to figure out how to cover most expenses. She has been struggling with lack of income due to maternity leave, and her current job won’t give her full time hours until March. She has applied for state help but is still awaiting approval for those.
Kayla is requesting help with a past due electric bill ($215) as well as some gift cards to help her and her children. $100 in gas and $100 in grocery.

A young mother with an infant with complex medical issues is needing a mini fridge to store his life sustaining total parenteral nutrition (TPN). Having a separate mini fridge is helpful to ensuring the TPN is kept sterile, which lowers the infant's chances for potentially deadly central line infections. If possible, it would be helpful to have the fridge delivered to the family's home due to this infant currently being admitted to the hospital.

Single mom of 3 children is in need of getting birth certificates for her children so they can enroll in a new school. This family has been homeless, and by staying at many different homes, she has lost a lot of important information. We have been helping her get her ID, SSN, and now birth certificates for her and her children. This transition for the kids has been tough and she believes them switching schools to where they are now will help them become more stable. This process is all part of her getting a job, housing, etc. We are wrapping around this mom to support her in this process!
Two children in a single parent household are in need of lamps for their rooms, comforters and pillows for their beds and storage bins for their clothes. The requested items will assist with keeping the children warm in the winter months , assist with them having lights in their rooms, and a place to keep their clean clothes.
A youth needs a bed once they return to a relative placement whom is an adoptive resource. This youth would benefit from a comfortable bed to sleep in to maintain good mental and physical health.

A father had his phone stolen, without a phone he cannot keep in contact with his case manager to work on case plan tasks which will prevent reintegration from happening. A simple phone with a cheap service is all that is necessary.
Hello CarePortal Community!
We have a family in our community who needs our support. A family of 4, including an 11-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, has reached out to our school seeking financial assistance. For about 2 months, the family has been out of power and have been creative in getting hot water and access to WIFI from close relatives. In late August, the family had a car accident, and have not been able to get it fixed- this has made it difficult for Mom to seek new employment and take the youngest daughter to a podiatrist specialist once a month. Since August, Mom has been unemployed, seeking support from family and friends; they are now at a place where they feel they have exhausted all of their resources. They are asking the community for any assistance with utility bills. Would anyone be willing to support this family?
Thank you for your time

Child needs a bed frame, mattress and bedding. Mother recently secured an apartment but is unable to afford furniture at this time. The case may be closed after appropriate beds are secured.
I'm working with a mother who had one chld. The child is currently with grandma. Grandma is needing help with gas to transport the child to and from school because it's 20 miles each way. Mom is needing help with an old bill at Compass Health so she can start receiving services again. Updated on January 27, 2023 by an Agency Worker Car Insurance bill $89
A family has recently moved into a new home after one of the children's father was killed. The family is still grieving, and losing a source of income has forced the mom to look for other employment. She has a job opportunity that would help but does not have reliable transportation at this time to get to work. She has a bus pass, but not all work sites are on the bus line, so she is requesting an adult bike that she could use to get to and from work. Since they moved, the family is also seeking furniture for their home at this time. They are in need of dressers and a dining room table with chairs. Anything is helpful (however the bike is a priority so the mom can take the new job opportunity and earn more money for her family). I am not sure how much bike/furniture would cost so the amounts below are a rough estimate.

A single mother who is completing treatment court and starting a trial home visit is needing a crib and mattress for her son. She has a pack n play but would prefer him to sleep in a crib for safer sleep. She also needs a box spring and bed frame or a bed frame that doesn't need a box spring for her full size bed.
Father and stepmom took over care of three children in an emergency placement situation due to biological mother not providing a safe environment for the children to live in. Due to the sudden responsibility of caring for three children, Father and stepmother are experiencing some financial difficulties. Caseworker is seeking basic needs items such as a queen mattress or two twin mattresses for the older boys to sleep on, clothes and shoes for all three children and any food support available. Providing these items will allow father and stepmother to use their income to ensure their bills are paid in a timely manner so they can continue to keep the children in a safe a stable home. These items will alleviate some of the financial burden that comes with suddenly providing for three children. Caseworker is willing to pick up items if necessary. If willing to provide clothes and shoes, please reach out to caseworker for sizes (2 boys -10yr and 8yr; 1 girl - 3yr).
This family has multiple people in the household as they came together to take care of these 5 children who came into care. These 5 children's grandmother, lives with her mother and father and her other daughter who has two kids. We all joined together to make this placement work, so these children did not have to be separated. The grandmother does a lot for these children multiple doctor appointments and taking care of an infant with medical needs. The children are 10,7,4,2 and 4 months old. This family is in desperate need of a dryer if we could find one as their dryer quit working and going to the laundry mat is very expensive. They also need some help with a highchair big enough for the 2-year-old as he does need it. If they could get this help it would benefit the placement and the children.

I have a family who has been working to better their lives through Christ and hard work. A married couple have both obtained employment that require to pay $30.00 a week for transport. The family will need $60.00 today in order to pay for their transportation to and from work next week.
This is a very proactive family that is new to the area and has already obtained housing, community support, worship, and employment. They just need help until they get that first paycheck. I love this family and so would you.
