A mother of a 6 yr old girl, who is placed with kin in Colorado Springs, is expected to be released from jail in Georgia on 5/10/2025 and will be returning to Colorado Springs on 5/12/2025. She has a bed reserved in Sober Living so she will have a safe place to stay. Due to having no job, she does not yet have the means to pay for her first month. A visa gift card in the amount of $450 would assist her to ensure the first month is paid as she begins her journey towards sobriety and ultimately, reunification with her daughter, who is on the autism spectrum and non-verbal. This request being met would be a huge blessing in this young mom's life. Thank you so much for considering!

Two children ages 9 and 11 were placed in the care of their cousin. Their cousin also has a 15 year old child of their own. The family recently moved into a new home and are struggling financially so, they are not able to purchase groceries for the household. The family is requesting help with any of the items listed above or a gift card to Walmart or King Soopers to help purchase groceries. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hello, I have a mother on my caseload that just passed her 1 year sober milestone! She is employed for the first time in many years and is looking at getting her own apartment after living in sober living. she has some applications in at different apartment communities and is close on one but will need $500 to help with the first payment to get the keys. She is working and taking some college courses online and is confident that she will be able to make the payments moving forward. Any help towards this would be greatly appreciated! Kinship provider has been driving children to visits and several appointments. She is asking for additional help with a gas card. She is in the process of getting assistance, but is really needing help.

A dedicated foster mom has just welcomed a new placement into her home and is in need of a dresser. The child arrived with more clothing than expected, and additional storage is needed. We are seeking a donated dresser in good condition or a gift card to help offset the cost of purchasing one. Two and three year old children are living with their aunt while their mother, who lives in her car, works toward getting herself together. Ana is terrified of the dark as a result of her experiences with her mother. Aunt is wonderful but is struggling to provide for the girls. Currently Ana sleeps on a mattress on the floor. She needs a toddler bed and some bed linens. Any help that aunt can get would help strengthen the family.

The department who is working with a potential adoptive family for a 7 year old youth who has been in DHS custody almost 3 years. This youth has a family who is wanting to move forward with adoption in the coming months. Due to his trauma and diagnoses this youth can have aggressive behaviors in the home. This youth does not have a bed anymore due to his aggressive behaviors. The family is looking for any assistance that could be provided in getting this youth a new bed. Thank you.

The Department is currently working with an 18 y/o youth (f) who is working on her independence skills. This youth has struggled with substance use for most of her life and is a young mom trying to be a present mom for her child. This youth is working to obtain employment and housing while navigating sobriety. This youth had a car but had it stolen while using substances. This youth is recently open to treatment and maintaining sobriety. This youth has identified a car that will work for her budget and is needing $1000 for a down payment. Anything and everything works for this youth! She is thankful for all the support she can get right now!

Youth does not have a car and has trauma from taking the bus. Youth is unable to work due to not having transportation. Youth is asking for Uber Gift Cards to help her get back and forth from work until she is able to purchase a car. The team is asking if someone would be willing to purchase three Uber Gift Cards with $50 on each card to help with youth's current transportation issue.

Requesting help for a single mom and her 3 children who recently got out of a domestic violence relationship. Requesting $75-80 for a gift card to Home Depot/Lowe's for stove pellets and the rest for a Walmart Gift card for clothes, food, and toiletries. If possible, the community can provide clothing or shoes, the oldest child wears about a 5 T in pants and shirts and 11 in shoes. The middle child wears a 3 to 4 T in pants and shirts and an 8 in shoes. The youngest child wears 3 to 6 months in clothing. This request will help the family keep the children and family safe, secured, and supported.

A grandmother (63) is starting individual therapy to start coping with her trauma history to better provide for her non-verbal grandson (16) in her care. She is hoping to learn more about how her trauma and her grandson's impact their overall relationship with the family who are in consistent arguments. The family dynamic is hurtful to making bonds with the family due to traumatic past.
