We have four children needing birth certificates in order to help facilitate a kinship placement and are need of funding for these certificates.

A family of 5 is need of diapers. The children are 10 male, 8 female, and 3 female. The family is asking for size 4T diapers. Anything is helpful, Thank you!

These students have worked tirelessly to navigate the difficultly of being involved with DHS, maintaining passing grades (some with numerous placement changes throughout their high school career), and have achieved the high honor of earning a high school diploma! We are reaching out to the community and asking for any assistance with providing gift cards to these students in order to celebrate their achievements!

The Department is working with a family with a 1-year-old boy. They are currently in need of size 4 diapers and unscented baby wipes. The father recently switched jobs and the mother recently lost her job after missing work for mental health reasons. She is currently interviewing for new jobs. They are struggling with this expense as a result. The mother has completed her treatment and the father is in compliance with every aspect of his treatment plan, fully unsupervised with their baby, and nearing case closure. Assistance with this need so that the family can keep their child in home as they work towards case closure is greatly appreciated!

Hello Community Supporters! We are holding our annual Kinship/Foster Parent Appreciation Celebration in June 2025! Kinship families are unique in that they take placement of children on an emergency basis who they have a prior relationship with in order to prevent children from being placed in the foster-care system. Placing children with family or friends often reduces the trauma children go through when separated from parents and it strengthens the natural familial and community supports they already have in place. Families do this with little to no ongoing financial support, yet they make it work everyday for these precious children. Foster families are such a need in this community and they open their homes to children with no where else to go. The Kinship/Foster Care Unit is hoping to be able to provide gift cards through a raffle to each family at the event in the amount of $50 for grocery stores, Walmart or Target, or other locations in town where items for the family can be purchased. Another option is to provide specific items to raffle off to the families such as fun activities for the children or gift baskets, be creative!

DHS is working with a ten year old girl who will be celebrating her 11th birthday on the 22nd of this month. DHS is asking for help in receiving a visa gift card to help celebrate her birthday. She is doing really well in school and participating in school sports and school plays. Receiving this gift card will allow this kiddo to do something nice for herself on her birthday. If a gift card cannot be obtained, this kiddo would also appreciate any gifted items; she enjoys basketball and collecting stuffies. Thank you for considering.

Hello - DHS is working with a father of a 10 year old girl. This father is asking for help purchasing a laptop so he can search for jobs and housing more effectively. DHS would greatly appreciate any used items that can be donated or a visa gift-card so this can be purchased. This caseworker has found a laptop that would be suitable at Walmart for $170. Hello, I have a case with four children who are placed in North Dakota on an ICPC. These children need their birth certificates and social security cards. The children were all born in North Dakota and the cost of a birth certificate is $15 each. The oldest child is 17 and hoping to join the National Guard but needs his paperwork to be able to do so. Hello, I have a case with four children who are split between housing with an uncle and a grandmother. The children are beginning to adjust to the changes and the placements have had to fund many things to bring these children into the homes. As the school year is ending and the families are adjusting they could each use some assistance with food. Since these families are out of the state a VISA gift card would be the most helpful as our grocery stores are not the same. The families have been using their local food pantries to help, but often do not get things such as meat, eggs and milk in this assistance. Even something like $100 for each home would be beneficial, but of course any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this request.

A mother of a youth is in need of a $150 gift card to buy clothes for her son who recently returned home with her. Because the youth grew up while he was in foster care, most of his clothes are no longer his size. Any help for this family would be greatly appreciated!

Hello - We have a mother that recently relocated to Delaware in the hopes that she would have access to more family supports and resources to utilize in her recovery. Unfortunately, the support and resources have fell through and mom is stranded there trying to get back to Colorado. If someone would be able to fund her ticket home, she would be able to participate in her family time in person and re-engage in programs in order to work quicker towards reunification with her son who is placed in foster care. Flight will be from Philadelphia to Denver.
