This wonderful Caregiver has been taking care of many of her grandchildren for the past few years now. She currently has 5 of them and after months of struggles with their landlord, they recently became unhoused. She and her five grandkids are staying in a single bedroom at an Extended Stay while she has worked tirelessly to secure new housing. Finances are incredibly tight right now between the hotel fees, laundry, and having to replace her car battery to continue getting the kids to school. She has found a home in Miamisburg where her grandchildren are attending school and it is $1350 deposit and $1350 first month’s rent. She is able to pay one of those but needs assistance with the other. After speaking to the landlord, he said he would like to let this Caregiver move in on February 1st but will need both the first month’s rent and deposit to stop showing the home. Any assistance would be so greatly appreciated!
Students are in need of Winter Boots.
We are looking for winter boots for 4 of our students who either walk to school or to a bus stop. They often come to school with shoes that are soaked through on rainy or snowy days. This can significantly impact their behavior and ability to attend to their classes throughout the day. Providing boots that will keep student's warm and dry will also help to improve their attendance and productivity at school. Slim boots that will be wearable for the whole school day would be most helpful, but anything that helps to keep them dry is most important. Any support towards this request is greatly appreciated!
Special Instructions:
These boots can be shipped or delivered to Amanda Elementary or pick up can be coordinated with Success Liaison. Thank you so much!
Single mother who has been displaced from her home with a medically fragile child. Currently living in her car with the two children. In need to monetary commitment for food gas and shelter (Hotel). Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
I am requesting a gas card for a mother who is currently in a shelter with her children. The family faced some very challenging hard ships and December and are working to get back on track. Due to the shelter not being in town, the children have missed a lot of school. Although bussing could be provided, at this time the children are refusing to ride the bus and want their mother to take them due to previous hard ships. Any help would be appreciated so the children can begin coming to school regularly again.
I am requesting $40 due to the high cost of gas, however any amount would be very helpful. Thank you so much for considering.
A student is in need of Winter boots.
This student needs winter boots to keep his feet protected and warm on his way too and from school. This student is currently coming to school in shoes that are very tight on his feet and he does not have winter boots at all. (He mentioned that he especially likes blue and green boots.) Supporting this student will help him feel comfortable and able to focus through the day. This will also support the student's family as they work to provide for all of their needs. Any support is appreciated!

An aunt took custody of her 11-year-old nephew after her sister died. The boy’s father is incarcerated. The aunt herself has had some personal challenges and fled a domestic violence relationship that left her homeless for a short period of time. Unfortunately, both aunt and nephew have experienced quite a lot of trauma in their young lives. The two of them are now living in a safe home and her nephew has come a long way in the last year after receiving therapy through CSSMV. The aunt works 35 hours a week-she works third shift from home in order to avoid childcare barriers-however, her job does not offer insurance and she is just barely making it paycheck to paycheck. She is in the process of applying for SNAP and Medicaid but mentioned that her nephew is in need of clothing and also lacrosse gear. He hopes to play next month, but she doesn’t have the extra funds to buy him gear. She would be so grateful to be connected to gently used/new clothing and lacrosse gear for him. He wears a size 14/16 in boys, XL in boys shirts, and 6 ½-7 in shoes. He could use tennis shoes, a coat, hoodies, sweatpants, pjs, socks and underwear. For lacrosse he is in need of cleats, shoulder and elbow pads, and a lacrosse racket. She did find him a helmet at Play It Again Sports. If you have any items you are willing to donate to this kinship family, it would really mean a lot to them and take a little bit of financial stress off of this loving aunt. Thank you for your consideration!
I have a family who lives in Trenton and both parents work. Dad was off work recently due to complications of shingles and in fact was at Univ Hosp for 3 three weeks. They are having trouble covering this month's rent (he is back at work now) and they are short about $400
Kinship families can come in all different shapes and sizes. For the caregiver I am working with, not only has she recently become the primary caregiver of her 8-year-old grandson, she also opened her home to a 14-year-old girl, after her adopted mother passed away last year. The young lady’s life was turned upside down when her adopted mother died and it was a blessing that the caregiver took her under her wing, was able to keep her in her school, and find her the support services she needs. When the teen came to live with her, she did not have much in the way of clothing. The caregiver is doing her best to makes ends meet on her limited income. It has been a big financial adjustment to have two children to care for. They would greatly appreciate help with gently used or new clothing. The teen girl wears a size 11-12 in juniors, M/L in shirts, and 6 ½-7 in shoes. Her grandson wears a size 18 in boys, XL or XXL in boys shirts, and a 6 ½-7 in shoes. In addition, the teen is in need of personal hygiene products. A gift care to Walmart or Meijer would be so wonderful as it would allow her to pick out exactly what she needs and to get new undergarments. Thank you so much for considering our request!
We are working with a single mom who is amazing at living on a strict budget. But the high price of groceries has hit her fixed income hard this month. As a result, she needs help with her internet bill and some extra grocery money. Her daughter has special educational needs and uses internet programs to help her with homework and learning to read. We are really hoping to avoid disconnection.

Grandma is the caring and dedicated kinship caregiver to her 10-year-old granddaughter. Grandma has overcome some significant health issues this year, which has taken a toll physically, emotionally, and financially. Despite her recent hardships, Grandma is a loyal employee and loves going to work each day. However, much of grandma's income has had to go toward her health-related expenses and recovery, therefore, she is struggling to cover other necessary expenses at this time. That is why Grandma would greatly appreciate any help whatsoever with her overdue car payment of $1,413.00 that is owed to Santander Consumer. A partial payment would allow Grandma more time to catch up on the remaining balance and would help to prevent the risk of repossession. Access to her car is essential for both her and granddaughter for many reasons, such as school, doctor appointments, and employment. Any assistance with this need would take some weight and stress off of Grandma’s shoulders and would allow her the room to get on top of her expenses moving forward.
URGENT NEED Single mom with two children needs to pay $163 by tomorrow so she doesn't lose her housing. In times like these it's near impossible to find a place to live and I would hate for her to lose this and become homeless. ANY help would be much appreciated.

** Eviction will be filed 1/18/23.***
Single mother who is strictly on disability due to multiple back surgeries. Her disability was paused for months due to identity theft. The disability has started back up in December and she is able to pay now; however, she is behind multiple months due to the pause in payments. Here rent is $489, she is behind by $2489.00- including January payment. Mom is able to cover $800. Liaison is working to obtain $600 from another fund; however, one fund that had been attempted to use is now out of funding. Mom is still in need of $1,089 to prevent eviction filing on 1/18/23.
Landlord is willing to accept a promise note stating that funding is coming and date when it would be available.
I am working with a mom who graduated from our program. She has made tremendous strides in her recovery. She has been sober for 17 months. She has worked so hard in her recovery. She attends meetings on a daily basis and works part time. She has a 14-month-old little girl. She is an incredible mother! This momma has been staying at a maternal sober living house. But her program is over after a year. So she will have to leave there on February 2nd. She has received a housing voucher; however, she cannot find anywhere that will accept her with her criminal background. If she can pay $230 in restitution, she can get her record sealed. If she was able to get her record sealed this would enable her to find housing for her and her little girl before they become homeless. If she is homeless this puts her at risk of her baby going into foster care. Being able to get her record sealed will open so many doors for her! If you could help her she would be eternally grateful.
Father recently received custody of children 2 girls 1 boy. Father needs beds for all the children to stabilize placement. They currently have no bedding.
Mother recently cut off contact with family members due to ongoing substance use by the family members. Mother recently got a job, and is working to find housing of her own. Due to recently obtaining a job, she is struggling financially as she had no savings. Mother is currently staying with extended family members who also do not have the means to provide for her financially. Mother is close to obtaining her own housing, but due to moving out of a previous residence, she does not have bedding for the children. Mother is in need of a toddler bed, and crib, as well as mattresses, and bedding.
A loving grandmother is in dire need of a dryer and clothing for her girls. She has had custody of her 9 year old granddaughter since birth and has also been caring for her 2 year old granddaughter, whom she expects will be officially placed with her this week. The grandmother is disabled and supports these girls on a very tight budget. The youngest has come to her with very little and she could use some clothing and diapers. The little girl wears a size 5T in clothing, size 6 in diapers, and size 8 in toddler shoes. She needs a winter coat, pants, shirts, and socks. In addition, grandmother needs a potty chair to help with her potty training. The oldest daughter wears a women’s large and is also in need of a winter coat, leggings, and shirts. Another need is an electric dryer. Grandma has a washer that is still in working condition, but her dryer has completely given out. She would be so appreciative of any new or gently used clothing for the girls and a dryer so she can avoid having the extra expense of a laundromat. Thank you for your consideration in helping this kinship family!
