Story
Here at Youth and Family Services of Enid we also house several school based counselors and case managers. A case manager brought to my attention a 18 year old girl still in high school that needs a lot of help right now. For one thing both of her parents are struggling with addiction and have checked themselves into rehab leaving her to fend for herself. This young girl is herself struggling through school and with working a job because of pressures of school and her home life and on top of that was very sick this season suffering a bad cold that prevented her in having the energy to work on top of full time school at Enid high. I am writing today to request a couple of things. She had gotten very lucky and was taken into the TLP program where she living right now in this youth program in a rented house where the rent is only $200 a month and this is a blessing for this girl but working and school demands are hard. She is still struggling with groceries right now as she has been denied for food stamps so far. She is also working now but did struggled to find a job that worked around school and her needs. She needs a little help with gas for her car and so I am asking maybe a gas gift card to help her with gas in her car to get here back and forth to school and to work as needed. Also asking extra help for groceries and may benefit from anything provided by a food pantry or a store gift card to buy some groceries anything would help.
