Story
Please consider helping a family of 6; mom, dad, and 4 little girls, ages 11, 10, 8, & 7. This family was adversely affected by the recent Oklahoma storms. They lost power, and had to replace a power line/pole before OG&E would restore power to their home. In the meantime, they were running a gas-powered generator that could not sustain power to their refrigerator and deep freeze. Due to the power outage, the family lost an entire freezer full of meat that was meant to sustain them for the next few weeks! They have also incurred an additional expense trying to pay for the gas for their generator and purchasing the materials to replace the electrical pole/line. The adult family members are on a fixed income, and the family does not qualify for SNAP benefits. Overall, the family is facing upwards of $700 in extra expenses, which includes gas expenses, water bill, and car insurance. In addition to this, they are in immediate need of food. The family has been relying on cans of soup sent home by the children’s schools in order to eat. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated at this time.
