Story
This time of year, as we near the cold weather, many of our children have no warm clothing or jackets to sustain the cold temperatures. As we near the holidays, families have to decide between wants and needs. Often times, families pass down old jackets or hoodies to younger children, so that they are able to focus on spending money on food or holiday gifts. Our school district has a significant need for warm weather clothing like jackets and hoodies to ensure that children stay warm and healthy so that they can focus on the important things in life and not be burdened to stay home due to a lack of warm clothing. Not having a jacket or hoodies looks like a child being without and often leads to teasing or isolation. Meeting the needs of these student by providing our children that need a jacket most would improve a child's quality of life and allow them to participate with their friends in normal school activities.
Tuloso-Midway is asking for both female and male jackets or hoodies for each campus. We have a primary campus (Pre-K3- 2nd), intermediate campus (3rd-5th), middle school campus (6th-8th), high school campus (9th-12th), academic career center (ACC) (10th-12th grade). Our high school campus and ACC campus house the same demographics of sizes.
We will be on holiday break starting December 21 and our students return January 7. Then January 15, our student go on holiday break for the life stock show and return January 21.
