After recently being released from juvenile hall, a teenage boy is working hard to rebuild his life and adjust to a new chapter. He was placed in a caregiver's home—a placement made with good intentions but limited resources.
The caregiver, while willing and supportive, was not fully prepared for the unique needs of an older youth. The only bed available is too small, leaving the young man’s legs hanging off the edge each night. There's also no proper space for him to store his belongings, which only adds to the instability he's trying so hard to escape.
This youth is trying to move forward—eager to find a sense of normalcy, safety, and dignity. But something as simple as not having a proper bed can be a daily reminder of how difficult starting over can be.
To preserve this placement and support the youth's path forward, the caregiver is in need of a full-size bed, a dresser, and a bedding set. With these basic essentials, the youth can finally rest—literally and emotionally—in a space that feels like his own.
