The Department is working on a solution with the family to resolve this issue as quickly as possible however, in the meantime, the family is in the support of groceries. They will utilize community resources that are available to them for food however, these resources will not get them through the entire month. The Department is hopeful that a local church would be willing to help supplement some groceries that they cannot get from community food pantries. The family is interested in connecting with a local church to form positive relationships in the community.

Hi Care Portal community, This family is currently in need of rental assistance. The father was recently let go from his job due to a slowdown in work demand. Thankfully, he has since secured new employment, but the family is unable to cover this month’s rent and is facing a 3-day eviction notice.

They owe a total of $1,839. We are requesting up to $1,200 through Care Portal. The remaining balance will be covered by a small loan from a family member. The family expects to be financially stable moving forward and will be able to pay rent next month. The school district is also connecting the family to homeless services in the City of Riverside. The family this request pertains to is doing the best they can. The adults are grandparents who are struggling to take care of the household after taking in one of their grandchildren. The child's parent is not a in position to be a parent so the grandparents stepped up. Since caring for her, they have tried to give her every opportunity possible to have normalcy. The child is a 5th grader who is working through a lot of her own personal struggles, but will say that moving in with her grandparents makes her feel safer and like she will be ok. The grandmother reached out to request help with an electric bill that has gotten away from her and she has received a disconnect notice for Monday 4/14 at 5:00. The family has reached out to a local counseling agency for help with financial planning so that they do not find themselves in this situation again. The family has also provided a copy of the bill which can be shared. Any amount will help! Not having power in your home is inconvenient at the best of times, but for a family who is already working hard to make ends meet, it can make things that much darker.

The caretaker is facing challenges with her electricity bill, which is currently overdue. She urgently requires assistance to prevent her electricity service from being disconnected. Any help in managing this financial obligation would be greatly appreciated.

JD knows of a woman who needs help with a hearing aid deductible. He tried to receive assistance through Passport but was denied through two different programs. Her deductible is $250. She lives in Pickerington and I have her name, address and phone number on hand.

A foster family recently welcomed a 3-week-old baby girl straight from the NICU into their home. She is a premie, and the family is in need of some premie-sized clothing to help care for her during this season. Their biggest need is zippered sleepers but any premie clothes would be helpful
