Part Two // A family previously assisted by our network faces new challenges after the mother's job change. Household changes have increased financial pressure as older siblings have moved back home, causing bills and expenses to nearly triple. Both parents have medical conditions requiring phone monitoring, creating difficult choices between utilities, medications, and communication tools. The mother has taken steps toward financial recovery by securing a part-time position at Lighthouse, working 10 hours weekly. I am connecting her to community resources, including St. Vincent de Paul's Charitable Pharmacy and food pantries at Lighthouse and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Immediate needs (based on a budget that Mom shared): medication assistance (Walgreens gift card; $100), gas ($210), groceries ($200), household essentials ($60). Subtotal = $570; estimated grand total with fees = $613. This support would close the gap between what the family has, will receive from community organizations, and what they still need.

A single mother of three children is currently seeking help to pay a utility bill in the amount of 283.75. She is employed full time and has been able to make ends meet on her own until her car broke down. In order to be able to go to work and take her children to school and daycare she was obligated to fix the vehicle. However, in allotting funds to car repairs her utility bill took a backseat and now she is anxious about the possibility of her lights being cut off. She is a hard worker and is currently receiving employment and education services from the Urban League of Broward County.

The grandmother is assuming care, responsibility, and legal custody of her grandchildren. Although the grandmother is employed at a local Leon County school, caring for the grandchildren has put a strain on the grandmother's finances. The grandmother is in need of two twin size mattresses to improve her and the grandchildren's well-being.

The father, is in need of coverage for another week's stay in their current housing situation. The father regained custody of his son about 4 years ago. He recently lost his job in January. The father and his son had been staying with his parents up until last Monday. The maternal grandparents had a domestic disagreement with the child. They demanded that the child no longer remain in their home. The father and child left their home. They spent a few nights in their SUV before Pigeon Forge Police Department was made aware of the situation. DCS became involved. They were gifted housing at Smokies Motel through this Friday, 5/2/2025. The father's SUV was in need of a battery and it was graciously replaced. He was able to walk to put in some applications and recently had an interview at McDonald's. He should be hear something back this coming week. DCS has reached out to MATs but they only have 1 bed available right now. The rent is due tomorrow 5/2/2025 by 10am. Any assistance provided I know would be greatly appreciated by DCS and the family. The caseworker is asking for an additional week's stay at the current motel, which is $50/night.

Family needs help with beds for 3 of their 5 children. At this time their 3 school aged kids do not have proper beds to sleep in and would benefit from having their own twin bed.

Individual has had numerous on going medical issues and concerns coming up on 2 years now. he has been unable to work and with financial struggles with making rent, utilities, etc. He has been denied for county and state assistance due crazy reason for example the value of his assets which he only owns 1 car which is non drivable at the moment . We are asking for assistance in ensuring this gentleman is able to get to his appointments and paying his rent and utilities. This request is for a Summit family in need of some assistance. A single mom with 5 kids is moving into a new home. The purchase of the home along with expensive closing costs have made furnishing the home extremely difficult. In addition to the needs list, they could use bedding for each bed. Also, regarding the kitchen table, a rectangle table with 6 chairs would work best for this family. The will be ready to receive these items on or after May 10th. Thank you in advance for your help!

We have a couple at our campus who is needing some help with rent assistance. The husband is facing a chronic illness and is seeking employment that is flexible with his health. They have two teens in their home who they support. The family has gone through seasons where they have relied solely on the wife's income and are currently catching up on rent. Any donations would be a huge blessing. Church family, please consider helping this family and keeping them in your prayers.

This request is for a family with 3 children, one of the children is an adoptive placement. This family needs 6 dining chairs. Several of the families dining chairs have broken or are not safe for use. If you have used dining chairs you would like to donate or would like to purchase new ones, I know this family would greatly appreciate it.

Mom is being reunited with her sons after a domestic violence situation and has a new home. Working on gathering things to make it feel more like a home and help them get back on their feet. Starting with the beds. I have a full size bed for mom, and one twin mattress, but looking to complete the twin size beds for each of the two boys. Mom has asked for pillows and I would love to find them bedding as well. Boys are into Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog but anything blue would work. This family is working with Clay County Children's Services but has moved to Leavenworth area. Our Regional field manager reached out to me directly as there isn't really support in LV CarePortal wise right now. I have updated the amounts if we were to purchase items for the family.
