Story
Patient has been residing in the U.S. for the past three years, originally comes from Honduras and has no immediate family or support here. Her family remains in Honduras, and she is navigating an extremely vulnerable situations on her own.
She is the mother of a 4-year-old daughter who has been diagnosed with autism and is scheduled for surgery soon due to severely enlarged tonsils that are interfering with her ability to breathe. Her daughter is in need of diapers. She is a size 7 in diapers. The patient is currently pregnant.
Until recently, the household’s sole provider was her husband, who has now been arrested. As a result, the family has lost its only source of income. She is actively working with legal counsel to navigate the situation, but her immediate needs continue to grow. Due to the lack of funds, her phone service is expected to be disconnected shortly, which will further isolate her during this difficult time, as well as difficulty paying rent.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, the patient remains incredibly resilient, facing each day with strength and kindness. Given the urgent nature of her circumstances, she is in need of financial and social support now more than ever.
