A mother in an inpatient treatment center with a two month old baby son is caring for him while participating in an inpatient treatment facility. Mother appears to be committed to maintianing sobriety after many years of substance abuse and past removal of her older children. Mother has limited support and the father is not involved. Mother notified DCFS the need for new baby bottles and nipples for her baby. The request is for new bottles for baby to help resolve the current medical diagnosis of thrush. Mother is in need of new bottles, nipples and a bottle brush so she can prevent the baby’s exposure to thrush. Mother has limited funds and desparately needs these items. Since the baby is eating more often, mother needs more bottles and is unable to fully sanitize the bottles timely in her current treatment residence. Having an additional supply will allow mother to thoroughly clean and sanitize the bottles in groups so she can give baby clean milk and supplies when needed. The bottles needed are special bottles as the baby will only take to this particular nipple, along with a bottle brush. I’m reaching out on behalf of a mom at our clinic who is currently facing an unexpected and challenging situation. She is experiencing a high-risk pregnancy and just received news that her delivery date has been moved up to the beginning of June — earlier than planned.

She is expecting twins and now urgently needs two infant car seats to safely bring her babies home from the hospital.

This family has struggled with depression and anxiety since Covid and dealt with a job loss. The family struggles with maintaining the home, due to two large dogs and two cats that were allowed to tear up the home and trashed the furniture. The father is very anxious, and it is almost "debilitating", but he is working with the case worker to remedy the problems in the home and resolve this neglect.

The family is in need of a church to help them get rid of items, clean the house, and help organize the house for better use of space. A truck to haul trash and junk from the house will be helpful or rent a dumpster to place in the driveway to fill it up. The furniture will need to be replaced; the amount is undetermined at this time. When the home is cleaned up and pest control can get rid of the cockroaches, the case worker will provide the father with therapy services. The father is very eager and willing to participate in services and will accept any help that is offered.

We have a single father in need of help making medical and SoonerStart appointments, as well as family time and other activities taking place out of town on a weekly basis. This dad is working very hard towards reunification but is struggling making it to appointments due to lack of a physical planner making it difficult to keep track of the many appointments this child requires. Additionally, this dad is struggling financially due to the frequent gas it takes getting out of town where the child currently lives multiple times a week. This dad is also asking for any books or resources that could aid him in understanding typical development for a 12 month old/as she grows, parenting a child with special needs, and anything else that may help as he navigates this for the first time. Dear Team Sherry, this is our final update! Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy are packing and preparing for the big move at the end of June. Kaya and Kennedy will move into their grandfather’s home in Yorba Linda and commute to Saddleback College. Kennedy graduated high school, got her permit, and will have her license soon. Kaya is carefully planning her transfer to Fullerton College in another year. Cameron remains in New York and is doing well. Sherry will be moving to Nevada to live with a longtime friend. It’s an emotional shift after many years living together, but this past year has been a gift. Thanks to your support, Sherry provided a stable home, helped Cameron begin a new path, supported Kaya’s growth, and celebrated Kennedy’s graduation all in their family home. While the family will no longer live together, they’re ending this chapter with something meaningful: Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy will all serve as volunteers at Royal Family Kids Camp in late June. It’s a full-circle moment, as giving back to other foster families has always been a passion of theirs. The client is seeking assistance with her South Central Power bill, which is scheduled for disconnection on June 3, 2025, due to a past-due balance of $349.60. She is able to contribute $100 toward the amount owed.

The client recently experienced significant hardship, including a divorce followed by a car accident that was not her fault. As a result, she was temporarily unable to work and fell behind on her bills. She has since returned to full-time employment and now has a sustainable income.

Given her current circumstances and demonstrated effort toward self-sufficiency, she has been referred to InterFaith for possible assistance.

There is a Neighbor's Ministry Mom that we have been working with for awhile that is in need of groceries. She experienced the unexpected loss of a child and has been dealing with a huge amount of grief which has been paralyzing at times. She is having trouble with her food stamp benefits and with her daughter out of school now for the summer, is in need of groceries to give them a strong start to the summer while she sorts out her food benefits.
