Recently, a family who has arrived from Ecuador has been met with a barrier. When looking for parking near his home, he was approached by a police officer. The officer had him turn over his keys and confiscated the vehicle despite having insurance in place. After the incident, the individual was taken into custody and kept for 48hrs before being released. The family is looking for any sort of financial help so they are able to receive their vehicle back.

They have two students who attend McCutcheon in kindergarten and 1st grade.

A 16 year old female is struggling with addiction and is placed at home with her mother. Child is making progress by attending substance abuse treatment services and has been admitted to an inpatient treatment facility. The facility has a bed opening on 4/30/25 but the family is struggling with finances and does not have the gas money to transport her from Wichita to Topeka. The money is asking for immediate assistance with gas money to transport the child to her needed inpatient treatment. The family must leave by 6am on 4/30/25. Fulfilling this request would assist the child is meeting her treatment goals and improve her well-being and safety. It is important for the mother to be able to take her so she can be part of the admission process and prove her commitment to the child's willingness to seek treatment.

A Single mother of 2 boys, ages 11 and 1 month old is great need of a vehicle. Her vehicle has been unreliable ever since about 1 year ago when a foster case started. This mom was living in the car with her son and their dogs. Having an open case in this county; she had no other choice than to settle here. She started working and was able to get into a place and her son was placed in home-trial placement. Later on, she lost her job, her car broke down and was unable to find employment due to the pregnancy. She gave birth to a new baby a month ago. Having a reliable vehicle will make a significant difference in their lives. This mom will be able to drop her younger son to a daycare and go to work.

A single mom of four has been working hard to provide for her children. She recently got a job and a vehicle. She uses the vehicle to drive her child to and from school. But, the vehicle is in need of new tires, and mom is unable to afford that.

Mom is also struggling to pay for gas to be able to drive her son to school and get to her job. She is requesting help paying for new tires and fuel.

This foster family took placement of 6 siblings this month. Once a family of 4, now 10! Both foster parents are very happy to have them in their home. They both state that these children have healthy appetites, and they want to be able to provide them with healthy snacks and meals for the home. The family is committed to keeping these children well fed and housed. Food assistance would be greatly appreciated to help them meet this goal. Both parents stated they find Costco the best choice for value and variety. NO KNOWN food allergies. The foster mother also provided a list of clothing needs for each child and will be given in the activity feed to follow.

Family is being reunited and has a new home. Working on gathering things to make it feel more like a home and help them get back on their feet. Starting with the beds. I have a full size bed for mom, but looking for twin size beds for each of the two boys. Mom has asked for pillows and I would love to find them bedding as well. Boys are into Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog but anything blue would work.

A single mother who is the full-time caregiver for her disabled daughter is struggling to pay her rent after her monthly payment went up. She has starting driving for DoorDash and is looking for other ways to earn income while caring for her child, but she has gotten behind. She needs $262 by May2nd to avoid eviction. Please consider helping this family.

Our church is working together with a family who was recently homeless and is getting back on their feet. For years they have been deeply invested in serving our community. The mother has been a constant source of support, providing food and childcare assistance to local churches, always giving selflessly to others.
