Good afternoon, Calwa Elementary school is seeing an influx in students with lice causing many of them to miss multiple days of school. We support our students with a one-time voucher (limited amount provided by the district), but that only allows for 1 quick treatment, and they need several treatments for them to completely go away. Many of our families do not have the financial means to purchase these expensive kits for additional treatments. Our nurse has found that nit combs work best. We would like to have these nit combs handy for our parents to have if they are faced with this dilemma. Thank you in advance for your support!

I am writing on behalf of a family in urgent need of support. This family of three is soon to be a family of four and they are experiencing financial hardship. At this time, they are unable to afford a car seat for their child expected in June. They need this for the child’s safety and to be able to have it checked in order to take their newborn home from the hospital. As their due date approaches they have been gifted gently used items for their newborn but not a car seat. We also know that a second hand car seat is not the safest option as we often don’t know the history of the car seat, or if there was any damage that could impact the safety of the child. The family has recently had to move in with a family friend because they could not afford to stay at their previous apartment complex and are looking to move again before the baby is born. This car seat would make a significant difference in the family’s well-being and peace of mind. Any assistance is appreciated. Please help this family get a microwave oven. The child is 14 and will be home alone this summer while mom is working. He needs a way to heat up some quick meals to eat while she is gone. This family is trying to reunite and mom is working 2 jobs to care for the child. Her income does not allow her the luxury of purchasing items that are not absolutely necessary. I am reaching out to seek assistance on behalf of three students who are currently in need of new shoes. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, these students are unable to acquire the necessary footwear to fully participate in school activities and feel comfortable in their daily routines.

This request is for a family with 3 children, one of the children is an adoptive placement. This family needs 6 dining chairs. Several of the families dining chairs have broken or are not safe for use. If you have used dining chairs you would like to donate or would like to purchase new ones, I know this family would greatly appreciate it.

Family is being reunited and has a new home. Working on gathering things to make it feel more like a home and help them get back on their feet. Starting with the beds. I have a full size bed for mom, but looking for twin size beds for each of the two boys. Mom has asked for pillows and I would love to find them bedding as well. Boys are into Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog but anything blue would work.
