I am working with a family who has experienced a series of tragic events in a mere couple of weeks. These include the death of a parent, grandparent being hospitalized, and the loss of employment in a very short time. They were on a payment arrangement with Evergy, but missed their monthly installment, which resulted in voiding their arrangement and being disconnected. They have been disconnected for 2 weeks and have struggled to get the kids to school due to having to sleep elsewhere due to no power (staying with relatives, friends, etc.). Due to voiding the payment arrangement, the entire balance of $1,662.66 is required to restore service. I have worked with the parent to secure $662.66 through 2 local agencies, but have exhausted resources for the remaining $1,000. Payment can be made directly to Evergy over the phone.
