Habersham County DFCS is working with a single mother of 4 in a Family Preservation case. The mother needs a cell phone that she can use to do virtual meetings with service providers. Her current phone is held together with tape. The screen is so cracked it is difficult to read anything on it.

She also needs assistance in getting her oldest child's birth certificate so he can get his drivers' license and get a part time job but she does not have the additional money to pay the $30.00 fee for the document.

The family is being evicted and is in need of a place to stay, due to being evicted today. The mother has supports locally, but they are not appropriate caregivers. The children are ages 12, 4, and 2. The mother is ineligible for some of the homeless shelters in the area due to having a buprenorphine prescription. The department is requesting assistance in paying for a hotel for a few days while DCS works with the family on an appropriate plan.

I’m reaching out on behalf of a single mother of four children who is in urgent need of support. She lost her husband a few years ago and has been doing her best to care for her children on her own. Recently, she was let go from her job after missing work to care for one of her children, who is very sick. She is actively searching for new employment but has not had any luck yet. With no income and no support system, she’s now struggling to keep up with her bills. Just yesterday, she received notice that her electricity will be shut off next Friday if she is unable to pay her bill. The total amount needed to prevent the disconnection is $600. Please keep this family in your prayers, and if you are able to help financially, any donation toward this $600 would be deeply appreciated to help keep their power on during this difficult time. Mother is in desperate need of formula for her infant as the child need a special formula for medical issues. The family is in need of Enfamil Reguline. Formula can be dropped off at the local office. 12.4oz can runs about $27-430 at target 20.5oz can runs about $47-$50 at target

Single mom of two children (one with significant medically complexity) is struggling to pay her rent this month due to misplacing the already purchased money order for their income-based housing. Mother has taken great lengths to locate the misplaced payment but has come up short. There aren't any community agencies able to help until she has received a formal eviction notice which she doesn't want to risk due to the need for stable housing of her medically complex child. Please consider assisting with this tangible need!

An expectant mother is in need of basic items for a newborn due later this month (May). The mother's community health coach requested an infant car seat, diapers, wipes. These items will allow the child safe transport and will supply the baby's diapering needs for a few weeks. We still need funds for the CARSEAT, WIPES, and DIAPERS. We are celebrating Foster Care Awareness / Appreciation month by hosting a FREE POOL PARTY at River Country Water Parks in Muskogee Oklahoma. We will be inviting current foster and adoptive families from 10+ counties surrounding the Muskogee area to attend. In addition to the pool party, we will be offering information to families of local resources and churches that they can connect with as well as dates for summer activities for VBS and children / youth camps that churches are participating in and inviting children to come to.

The party will be Saturday, May 31st from 6:30-8:30pm with capacity being roughly 700-800 individuals. We will have an RSVP process for the families. We are asking for our networking churches to contribute to the cost of renting the water facility out - $1,200. Any amount helps! We have a beautiful family that arrived here a few years ago from Afghanistan. often the women have to take the children with to stores and other places. this women just had another child and a double stroller to help with a newborn and a 2 year old would be a huge blessing! we give gently used, clean ones - or you could purchase one. t

A church member has a college student, at New River Community College, in a class that is currently homeless along with his father. His father broke both his arms in a work accident due to faulty equipment. Since he is unable to work and the company has put a hold on workers compensation until July they are in need of assistance. The father is unable to work at least until he has surgery on both arms. Their current needs are food and gas for him to get back and forth to work and school. They have temporary housing with family but will need assistance with this need in the near future. If you can help or have any questions you can reach out to Austin Phillips.

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!
