She is a single mom with two adult children living with her and her elderly adult uncle. She has worked for the Court system for over 35 years. She has been able to keep her hours at work, but needed to take some time after the fires due to housing placement by her insurance down in the OC. Her home that she has been in for over 20 years was completely burned down, losing everything. She is living in temporary housing where she has 10 more months on her lease. She is paying her mortgage still and now have an increased payment in rent. They lost everything in their house and are still needing to purchase clothing and necessities for all 4 adults in the family. She was able to put in a claim for her insurance on the loss. She is still pending on payments, but was able to receive a partial payment for the contents of the house, but that went towards getting items for their housing (beds, couch, kitchen table, dressers, etc.). They are still needing to get more clothing and household items. Since the fires, she and one son both had their cars totaled and so between that and still needing to have the necessities, with the added increased rent and still paying on the house, they are looking for some assistance to help pay for the clothing and items that are needed.

A family of 5 is need of diapers. The children are 10 male, 8 female, and 3 female. The family is asking for size 4T diapers. Anything is helpful, Thank you!

Child age 6 months old was recently placed with maternal grandmother and her grandchildren. Case worker observed the family having propane tanks in the living room; caseworker asked why the tanks were in the home. Caregivers reported that neighbors tend to steal their propane tanks and that they bring them into the home at night. Case worker suggested getting a bike chain and lock to secure their grill and propane tanks outdoors so they do not transfer the tanks back and forth into the home. Caregiver agreed to living them outdoors and getting them secure outdoors. Any donations for a lock and chain would be appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.

We are working to help keep a family together and housed as they risk becoming homeless at the end of this month. This family's Dependency case has been open now for 3 years after concerns of domestic violence and substance abuse forced these two teenagers to live with non-relatives as their Mom has worked hard to become sober. Our Clients are a 17-year old girl and a 15-year old boy who recently were able to move back in with their Mom after the Court deemed it was safe to. However, while Mom has been aided by a housing voucher, it is set to expire at the end of May. She has just started a new job and is actively seeking new housing where all 3 of them will be able to continue to live together. Both of our teenage clients have been attending high school regularly again and are just beginning to have stability once more. Mom has shared that the biggest help she can ask for right now is with money to pay for car insurance for the next 6 months. She and her kids have been taking the bus everywhere because she is not able to pay the insurance of approximately $1400. She has also shared that if she is unable to find housing but is able to drive and use the car again once the insurance is paid, that at least they can rely on safely living in the car until they can secure housing again.

These students have worked tirelessly to navigate the difficultly of being involved with DHS, maintaining passing grades (some with numerous placement changes throughout their high school career), and have achieved the high honor of earning a high school diploma! The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

This request is for a young adult female currently in her junior year of high school, who experiences ongoing financial hardship within her family. She plays a significant role in caring for her younger sister, who has special needs. Despite these responsibilities, she maintains consistent school attendance and holds a part-time job. However, the job is located far from her home and provides limited hours.

She has expressed interest in applying for jobs closer to home that may offer more consistent hours, but she faces transportation challenges. The family car recently broke down, and she currently depends on others outside the home for rides, which has proven unreliable. She is looking for a bicycle or another form of transportation to help her access more stable employment opportunities.

This is a single mom who is currently pregnant and due at the beginning of June. She has requested an infant car seat and a stroller. She is moving into a shelter this week. Mom lacks a support system and is trying to rebuild a better life for herself and her child.

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
