The client is in temporary housing that her insurance is paying for -- $3,800. She is a few months away from her retirement and SSI coming in. She has her granddaughter and her elderly uncle living with her. They currently are in need of 3 dressers (one for each person), a kitchen table and chairs. They also need bedding (they have been given bed frames and matresses). They spent some of their savings on a couch, but need end tables, night stands, a bookshelf, and a linen Cabinet since there are not closets in the apartment. I am looking to get a Home Kit for the furniture needs. They are also in need of Grocery Gift Cards and clothing if it is available. Ideally if there could be gift cards $2,000. ($500 for each person for their wardrobe and $500 for groceries). She was living in her home for 40 years and it has completely burned down. they do not expect to be able to be back in a new build for at least 18months- 24months. The house was paid off, so there was no mortgage payment being made. Currently no one is working in the house. The client lost her job before the fires and the child is a student. The elder uncle is not working either and does not have money coming in to the home.

A father and his family had complete loss of their home in the Eaton fire. His family has been able to secure temporary housing and has been blessed by friends and family to be able to borrow home furnishings for the time being. The main concern that was mentioned to me is the need of a car. It is the basis of how much he can work. He is the main person working in his house right now. His income has decreased by half since the fires, this is mostly because his car burnt in the fire and since he is a construction worker, he has different places he needs to travel. When he is able to get a ride or borrow a car, he's able to take the jobs that his work offers him. If he was able to have reliable transportation, he would be able to go back to his regular hours of working. Once he has a car, he is eager to pick up the hours to be able to provide for his family again consistently after the fires. The most difficult part has been the loss of hours resulting in loss of pay and trying to pay monthly expenses while trying to get a downpayment together.

We have grandparents fostering their grandson and on the road to adoption in a few months. Due to the child receiving disability, the grandparents are not receiving a regular stipend. The grandparents are on a fixed income and do not have a lot of extra money. A father and his family lost their home entirely in the Eaton Fire. There are three adults and three kids who live together in the home. They have just found temporary housing and are in need of bedroom (5 beds) and living room furniture (couches, tables, lamps). A big need that they have is that the client's car was burnt in the fire. Since he is an inspector he has to travel around for work. He works in Los Angeles, Ventura, and San Bernardino Counties. Because of losing the car in the fire, the availability for work is there, but he cannot always take the work if he cannot borrow a car from someone else. He is able to make monthly payments on a car, but the initial payment to get started on a car. The request to ask for aid to help put down on a car so he can continue working and not be dependent on borrowing cars from others. Unfortunately they do not have insurance to help cover the loss. They are working hard on rebuilding.

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

She plays a significant role in caring for her younger sister, who has special needs. Despite these responsibilities, she maintains consistent school attendance and holds a part-time job. However, the job is located far from her home and provides limited hours.

She has expressed interest in applying for jobs closer to home that may offer more consistent hours, but she faces transportation challenges. The family car recently broke down, and she currently depends on others outside the home for rides, which has proven unreliable. She is looking for a bicycle or another form of transportation to help her access more stable employment opportunities.

This is a single mom who is currently pregnant and due at the beginning of June. She has requested an infant car seat and a stroller. She is moving into a shelter this week. Mom lacks a support system and is trying to rebuild a better life for herself and her child.

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
