A loving grandmother is doing all she can to care for her three cherished grandchildren—a 16-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old boy. Recently, she faced a serious health setback after suffering a stroke and spending time in the hospital. Now back home and on the road to recovery, she is doing her best to provide a safe and stable environment for the children who mean the world to her.

Living on a fixed income, she is now struggling to catch up on bills and medical expenses, all while trying to stay afloat. One of her most urgent challenges is paying $851.87 in property taxes on her home in Franklin County. Despite the obstacles, she remains determined to care for her family and keep them together under one roof.

Any support during this difficult time would mean so much to this devoted grandmother and her grandchildren. Your kindness could help ease the burden and bring a bit of hope to a family that’s doing their best to hold on.

Currently Seeking Size 5 Diapers and Wipes for a young mother whom is adjusting to the expenses of parenthood. The family is working a job that has not been consistent with hours, thus seeking new employment. With new employment with consistent hours would support some stability in the budget with the increase expenses of raining a baby. Supporting the family with diapers and wipes would allow for a small adjustment in the months budget to save money. The family is slowly learning the importance of having a savings of money for the uncertain needs that can arise with a baby within the home.

Cl has recently had a car fire and lost 2 car seats and her vehicle. At this time she is unable to get to work, and get her kids to daycare so she can work. She is also unable to get her son to his doctor's appointments. Her and the Father of the baby combined have 2 vehicles that need to be repaired. They need a mechanic to diagnose and fix vehicle free of charge as their resources are limited.

5 year old male child currently in the custody of a non relative. The non relative is receiving no benefits to care for this child. The 5 year old is very energetic and loves his caregiver whom he calls Mom. The caregiver works hard to provide for the child. Caregiver has been attempting to save money to purchase a bed and all bedding for the 5 year old but it is unable to get a ahead. This request is being made to assist a 5 year old to have a bed and the bedding he has been dreaming of.

The Denver Human Services’ Give Center is seeking shopping carts or bags with wheels to support food access for the children and families we serve. The Give Center serves close to 4,000 clients a year who need emergent resources – which include food. By providing the families we serve with food and a means to carry their food items with dignity — we take meaningful steps towards addressing hunger in our community.

Many of the parents, caregivers, and individuals who visit the GIVE Center lack access to reliable transportation, rely on public transit, or have disabilities that make it difficult to carry food. Having carts or wheeled bags readily available will help eliminate barriers and ensure that families—especially those with children—can safely and easily take food home. With your support, clients will be able to walk away not only with the food they need but with the means to carry it without added stress or hardship.

Family is in need of two twin sized mattresses, the bed frames and bedding have been secured.

One of our members has a washer and dryer to donate. A newly arrived refugee family with a disabled child is in great need of these donated units. We are looking for help from our church to pick up and deliver the washer and dryer. A pick up truck is needed, also volunteers to load, unload and install.

I met a young single mom, yesterday who is facing homelessness. She and her 12 year old daughter currently live in an apartment with her mother and are being evicted on Sunday evening. The grandmother has a place to go but this mom and her 12 year old do not. She is on a list to move in to housing in 4-7 days. She hopes to get a job in the Ruckersville area within walking distance of Food Lion.
GRACE can likely help her with first months rent when she gets in, but cannot help her with both first months rent and a hotel stay until the apartment becomes available. We are seeking nights at a hotel or an available room where she and her daughter can stay until getting the apartment. Please reach out if you can help with this. If different churches pay each church needs to make a different reservation which would be difficult. Current rate is around $140 a night. Let me know how many nights you could cover for her and I will start a reservation with that many nights and ask that you either send funds through GRACE or stop in the hotel and pay cash towards the reservation.

April showers bring May flowers! We’re sowing seeds of hope within the foster care community, connecting with kind and compassionate individuals to help us find safe and affordable housing for Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy. We’re praying for a harvest soon, as they must be fully moved out of their home by the end of June. Kennedy is preparing to graduate from high school in just a few weeks and is stepping into the next chapter of adulthood. Cameron has been thriving in New York; he's already received a glowing letter of praise from a client for being so helpful! Sherry recently started a new job assisting a senior during the day, and Kaya has been a big help in organizing, packing, and preparing for the upcoming move.
