I am reaching out on behalf of a dedicated caregiver who is in urgent need of support. This caregiver lovingly cares for a young child (Almost 2) with autism and is currently facing a significant challenge. After a recent surgery, the caregiver is unable to safely carry or support the child while using their current umbrella stroller, which offers limited support and stability.

To ensure the child’s safety and comfort—and to help the caregiver manage day-to-day outings—we are requesting assistance in providing a full-size stroller. A sturdier stroller will allow for better support for the child and reduce physical strain on the caregiver during recovery.

This act of kindness will make a world of difference for a family navigating both medical recovery and the daily responsibilities of raising a child with unique needs.

The family consist of one child ages 17 (female). This is a single mother raising her with severe behavioral issues and mental health. Her daughter's behavioral issues have led to parental stress, frustration, strained relationships between grandparents, and complicated interactions with her adult siblings. These behaviors have also negatively impacted the mother's mental health, that developed into severe depression & anxiety. This mother is trying her hardest to embrace these struggles. The mother works full time as a lead at Wawa and is also in the process of trying to get an apartment to live in for both her & the child. She is currently homeless and is residing with a friend until she is able to move into her own apartment. The department is working with the mother to put intensive services into the home for the child but has been having a very difficult time due to the mother not having a working cell phone. The mother has missed out on two staffing's for the child and the referred therapist for the mother has not been able to reach her to begin services with the mother due to not being able to contact her. This mother is in need of financial assistance to purchase a new pre-paid phone and minutes.

This student was impacted by the recent Palisades fire, which resulted in the complete loss of their family home. While their family has relocated out of the area, the student is seeking housing with a trusted friend’s family nearby to remain close to school and job opportunities. However, the host family is unable to provide food or financial support. Assistance is requested to help cover basic needs such as groceries, transportation, and a contribution toward household expenses to ensure a stable and respectful living arrangement during this transition.

We are requesting a $200 Visa gift card to support a youth with purchasing a bicycle. This young man facing challenges in getting to both work and school. Currently, the youth walks long distances daily, making it difficult to balance his responsibilities. A reliable bike would greatly improve his ability to get around, making it easier to stay on top of both work and his education. With your generous contribution, we can help this young man achieve his goals and make his daily commute safer and more efficient. Any donation, big or small, would be deeply appreciated.

Hello, I have a case with four children who are split between housing with an uncle and a grandmother. The children are beginning to adjust to the changes and the placements have had to fund many things to bring these children into the homes. As the school year is ending and the families are adjusting they could each use some assistance with food. Since these families are out of the state a VISA gift card would be the most helpful as our grocery stores are not the same. The families have been using their local food pantries to help, but often do not get things such as meat, eggs and milk in this assistance. Even something like $100 for each home would be beneficial, but of course any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this request.

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

Family is in need of two twin sized mattresses, the bed frames and bedding have been secured.

One of our members has a washer and dryer to donate. A newly arrived refugee family with a disabled child is in great need of these donated units. We are looking for help from our church to pick up and deliver the washer and dryer. A pick up truck is needed, also volunteers to load, unload and install.

I met a young single mom, yesterday who is facing homelessness. She and her 12 year old daughter currently live in an apartment with her mother and are being evicted on Sunday evening. The grandmother has a place to go but this mom and her 12 year old do not. She is on a list to move in to housing in 4-7 days. She hopes to get a job in the Ruckersville area within walking distance of Food Lion.
GRACE can likely help her with first months rent when she gets in, but cannot help her with both first months rent and a hotel stay until the apartment becomes available. We are seeking nights at a hotel or an available room where she and her daughter can stay until getting the apartment. Please reach out if you can help with this. If different churches pay each church needs to make a different reservation which would be difficult. Current rate is around $140 a night. Let me know how many nights you could cover for her and I will start a reservation with that many nights and ask that you either send funds through GRACE or stop in the hotel and pay cash towards the reservation.

We’re sowing seeds of hope within the foster care community, connecting with kind and compassionate individuals to help us find safe and affordable housing for Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy. We’re praying for a harvest soon, as they must be fully moved out of their home by the end of June. Kennedy is preparing to graduate from high school in just a few weeks and is stepping into the next chapter of adulthood. Cameron has been thriving in New York; he's already received a glowing letter of praise from a client for being so helpful! Sherry recently started a new job assisting a senior during the day, and Kaya has been a big help in organizing, packing, and preparing for the upcoming move.
