Home repair needs: The family consists of a single mother and 6 children. (4 whom live in the home, 1 residing with kin, and a child that is currently in custody of DCS that will be returning home soon. The father is deceased and the family has no other reliable supports. This family has severe trauma and other past concerns and are not new to The Department of Children's Services. The mother works and is able to barely meet daily needs. This family is resilient and has strength as a family unit that has kept them in their home for over 15 years. The home is in need of repairs that include of a sturdy front door and 4 Exterior windows or new replacement glass. The needed repairs are due to the age of the home and living near a school with a play ground and baseball field within walking distance. DCS has been involved with this family for many concerns stimming from the traumas experienced. This family needs someone to help with the needs of their home so that they can focus on the other daily family needs. This family is continuously working with DCS to comply with all concerns and will be grateful for any used or new resources provided . This will help in the cost of heating and cooling the home. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This act of kindness will provide the family with resources to then focus on their emotional and mental health knowing that they will be safe in their physical space and is a best trauma reduction practice.
