A local father has been sober for over a year and has committed the next year of his life to helping other men walk the road to recovery. He is part of a faith-based program focused on healing and restoration.

Recently, his soon-to-be ex-wife—who is sadly battling addiction—unexpectedly dropped off their 2-year-old daughter and stated she no longer wants to be involved in the child’s life. This precious little girl was dropped off with nothing. The father, though heartbroken for his daughter and her mother, is stepping up to raise her on his own.

A single mother of two needs financial assistance to pay her electric bill. She received assistance through LIEAP, but all of the funds were applied towards her gas bill, leaving her with a $1000 credit. Her electricity has increased each month, making it extremely difficult for her to cover the bill. Therefore, she is now in default on her payments. She is between jobs, but is actively seeking employment. She is actively engaged in seeking services for education (GED), mental health, case management, and primary care. She is able to set up a payment plan for the remaining balance, if she receives the financial request being made here. This financial assistance will help prevent the children from entering into foster care. This financial assistance will help the family maintain their safe and secure housing.

I would like to say “thank you” on behalf of my family. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated. I know that this is a temporary situation because I will be back in the workforce as soon as we get the support we need to get going. My story is long, but I will make it as concise as possible. When I got married to my wife, she had a boy, whom I love dearly. He is on the autism spectrum. I bring him up because everything that is going on is hardest on him. I had a job selling cars, and I made many sales, but what was promised was not paid. I lost several months giving my all to a job that did not cover my bills. I got a new job driving a school bus. At that time, we were living in my father’s house. That’s when the twins arrived. This was too much for him. He was always in a bad mood. His temper always got the better of him. We were afraid for the babies. M and J were afraid to be there when I wasn’t there, and I was afraid for them. One night he just cam in to the room screaming at my wife saying what s going on since the babies were crying and Meghan was getting frustrated with the babies he seemed like he was ready to hit one of us how angry he seemed .at the the time we were holding the babies I had to make a hard decision to keep my family safe cause it would of just gotten worse. We left to stay at a friend’s house, where we are now....but we have to leave very soon. Now we have no income and no savings. Thank you again for listening and all of your help.

Hungry Hearts Kitchen Ministry is seeking donations to help with the purchase of groceries to supply 4 families with a hot meal. These families are either involved in foster care or in the midst of some difficult life circumstance. Would you be willing to contribute? Always looking for volunteers as well. Single mom is trying to move into a home of her own after staying in a shelter with her three children is seeking a few items for the household. Items needed include a microwave, table, toddler bed and a couch. She is incredibly appreciative of the help that has provided already from Pathway Church but these few items would greatly improve the quality of life and well being of her family as they settle into a new life. Gently used items would be wonderful or donation!

Please help a single father and two children currently living out of their van. The van has been the father’s only means of work. To make matters worse the van is currently broke down and needing a new transmission. We are asking for funds to get the van running and to provide groceries for this family.

I have a family that is need of a twin bed for a 16-year-old teenage girl. The child is placed with her father and grandmother; however, the family has limited income and is unable to purchase a suitable bed. The teen is currently sleeping on a deflected air mattress that keeps deflating. This disrupts the teen sleep and prevents her from getting the proper sleep that she needs. When this need is met, this can benefit the youth at school and at home. Please consider this request, it will be greatly appreciated by the family.

Clay County Children's Division frequently works with families who do not have transportation, but they need to get their children to the hospital, to forensic interviews, or to other vital appointments. These appointments are often unplanned and urgent. We are requesting 5 $50 Uber cards to have available when these unexpected needs arise.

We would like assistance with a single mother who has three children, 11. 8 and 5 years old. She has been the victim of a fire in her last residence, which has lett her with pretty much nothing. She is working, and is residing currently in Waxahachie Housing Aurhority. She needs one complete twin bed for one of her daughers, and a full box spring for her son. She really would love a church to walk alongside her. She needs love and support right now, as she tries to get her life together for her and her children. If you can help, you would be making a huge difference in this mother's life.

Another church referred this family to us. Single mom, having a hard time, needs beds for her four children. We would like to help her by supplying beds.
