AGAPE is currently working with a pregnant mother, and she needs assistance getting her driver's license. This cost will go towards the mother's use of the driving center's car to take her driving test. Any assistance will greatly bless this young mother to be.

The Care Closet in Bedford County serves families caring for non-biological children (foster, adoptive, kinship, ect). Families are able to shop at the closet on a monthly basis for the needed clothing items for their families. Additionally, we provide hygiene items, clothing, and comfort items to children within 72 hours of moving into a new home. Currently, we are out of size 4 and 5 diapers, baby/toddler socks, pull-ups, some adult socks, underwear for boys, and underwear for our teens (adult sizes both male and female).

A local family has recently and unexpectedly taken custody of two teenage brothers, ages 14 and 16. While the family has secured beds and met other immediate needs, they are in urgent need of a large, functional couch to better accommodate the expanded household. This item will not only meet a practical need but also help create a stable, welcoming environment that supports the teens’ adjustment and well-being during this transition.

This request is for a family that is moving back into their home together. They are in need of a microwave for cooking, plastic shelving for food and plastic drawers for clothing and storage and a play yard/play pen for the kids to play in and stay safe inside the home in a gated off area. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

am writing to request your assistance for a mother, a medical assistant at UW, who is currently battling inflammatory breast cancer while also caring for her two children, one of whom has autism that was diagnosed later than optimal. The mother and her family recently experienced a devastating house fire in February that resulted in the loss of all their belongings. They were homeless for a month before finally securing an apartment in April. Despite the mother's employment as a medical assistant, the combination of her cancer treatments, caring for her children (especially her son with autism), and recovering from the loss of their home has placed an enormous financial and emotional burden on the family. They moved into their new apartment in April but are currently without essential furniture. Having these basic furniture items would significantly improve their quality of life during this incredibly challenging time and provide some stability as the mother continues her treatment. .

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

This request is for a young adult female currently in her junior year of high school, who experiences ongoing financial hardship within her family. She plays a significant role in caring for her younger sister, who has special needs. Despite these responsibilities, she maintains consistent school attendance and holds a part-time job. However, the job is located far from her home and provides limited hours.

She has expressed interest in applying for jobs closer to home that may offer more consistent hours, but she faces transportation challenges. The family car recently broke down, and she currently depends on others outside the home for rides, which has proven unreliable. She is looking for a bicycle or another form of transportation to help her access more stable employment opportunities.

This is a single mom who is currently pregnant and due at the beginning of June. She has requested an infant car seat and a stroller. She is moving into a shelter this week. Mom lacks a support system and is trying to rebuild a better life for herself and her child.

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
