A grandmother of a boy (DOB: 1/31/2017), took him into her home in December. This significantly increased her expenses. Her car recently broke down and requires costly repairs that have created a financial burden for her. She depends on her car to get her grandson to his appointments and her own. This request is for a family that has just recently been reunified with their mother who moved into a home big enough for her and her five children to all live together. The family has limited furniture for the home and the mother works as much as possible to support her family but is on a fixed income. The family needs living room furniture for a downstairs space that currently has nothing in it. A dining room table and at least 6 chairs so they can all sit down and eat together. They have three bedrooms that need dressers so the children’s clothes can all have space and feel like home. The requested items will help create a supportive space for the youths to thrive academically, mentally and emotionally. These items will help them feel more encouraged, engaged, and at home in their space.

17/F mother in foster care is needing help with tow cost of getting her vehicle to a mechanic in find out why her car is not running and obtain an estimate for cost of repair. This young mother recently gave birth to a baby girl in December and has had some struggles with postpartum depression. Having a running vehicle will ensure that mother is able to attend her mental health appointments, medication management appointments, ensure baby is getting to her required checkups and help mom attend school and work to better herself and her child's life. Mother's car is currently at her foster home in Northeast Wichita and needs to be taken to a local mechanic. A repair shop has not been identified at this time, so any suggestions would be appreciated as well as initial tow cost covered.

I am writing to seek assistance of a caregiver- a grandfather who is currently the primary guardian for his 16-year-old grandson. This responsible grandfather has stepped into a vital role, providing emotional, physical and financial support to his grandson during a critical period in the young man’s life. The grandfather is on a fixed income and faces financial strain, particularly as he also pays out-of-pocket for essential medical expenses. The grandfather is seeking assistance to obtain two sets of sofas to help furnish the home for both comfort and functionality. Providing the two sets of sofas would help the family remove the old ones and improve the quality of life.

The family recently lost all of their items due to flooding. The family was successful in obtaining renovations for the home, but are now in need of the basic needs to ensure the well being of the youth and siblings.

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

However, the job is located far from her home and provides limited hours.

She has expressed interest in applying for jobs closer to home that may offer more consistent hours, but she faces transportation challenges. The family car recently broke down, and she currently depends on others outside the home for rides, which has proven unreliable. She is looking for a bicycle or another form of transportation to help her access more stable employment opportunities.

This is a single mom who is currently pregnant and due at the beginning of June. She has requested an infant car seat and a stroller. She is moving into a shelter this week. Mom lacks a support system and is trying to rebuild a better life for herself and her child.

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
