A single mother of two children recently moved into her own apartment, after leaving a bad domestic violence relationship is in need of assistance for furniture. The mother asked the caseworker for a queen size bed frame, love seat/small couch and hygiene products.

This request is for a Hope Florida participant that is an elderly grandmother. She is seeking assistance with a small refrigerator to keep food fresh and a double burner stove to make hot meals. This grandmother has spent the last four years caring for her granddaughter since birth. She's in the process of guardianship/adoption with assistance from Legal Aid. Her social security income stretches thin, barely covering their basic needs. Still, she finds joy in simple things—her granddaughter's laughter, the quiet moments of bedtime stories and an unwavering belief that they’ll make it through. Recently, their small stove and refrigerator that made their home functional, were stolen. Without a refrigerator, fresh food is impossible to keep, and hot meals are a distant memory. The grandmother worries about the child is missing out on nutritious, warm meals that every child deserves. Through all this she has remained steadfast and caring for her granddaughter. A single Mom with 6 children is needing assistance with gas. The family lives in Ellinwood but the children go to school in Great Bend. The mother has had so many doctor appointments with the children in Great Bend, Salina and Kansas City that she has been fired from her jobs for taking so much time off. The mom has been dependent on the grandmother to help with transportation to school and back home, but the grandmother cannot help at this time. Mom does side jobs to help support the family, but she cannot depend on that income regularly. She needs help with getting gas to take her children to school on Monday and for the rest of the school year. She has a large vehicle which burns a lot of gas. She is very appreciative of any assistance she receives and helps other families when she can.

One of the children will need surgery in June out of town and she will need help then as well. The child's medical card will reimburse for transportation, but she will need to have gas to get there to and back.

She and her five children recently relocated due to the violence between the mother and father. The mother lost her food stamps last month for her and her five girls due to the father claiming the girls to get his own food stamps. The mother had to provide proof she has custody of the children, and not the father. She works as a bus driver. The mother reports that she decided to ensure her children were fed so she can’t pay rent this month. She will be getting her food stamps back and will be able to catch up. The mother reports that every 4 days the fee goes up $150. She has been given a notice to evict if she does not pay. Her and the children have no place to go if they lose the home.

Seeking basic needs assistance for a pregnant refugee from the Congo with 4 children. This will be her first baby in the United States. We don't know the gender yet. We are requesting a double stroller since Mom has a 2 year old as well.

An expectant mother is in need of basic items for a newborn due later this month (May). The mother's community health coach requested an infant car seat, diapers, wipes. These items will allow the child safe transport and will supply the baby's diapering needs for a few weeks. We still need funds for the CARSEAT, WIPES, and DIAPERS. We are celebrating Foster Care Awareness / Appreciation month by hosting a FREE POOL PARTY at River Country Water Parks in Muskogee Oklahoma. We will be inviting current foster and adoptive families from 10+ counties surrounding the Muskogee area to attend. In addition to the pool party, we will be offering information to families of local resources and churches that they can connect with as well as dates for summer activities for VBS and children / youth camps that churches are participating in and inviting children to come to.

The party will be Saturday, May 31st from 6:30-8:30pm with capacity being roughly 700-800 individuals. We will have an RSVP process for the families. We are asking for our networking churches to contribute to the cost of renting the water facility out - $1,200. Any amount helps! We have a beautiful family that arrived here a few years ago from Afghanistan. often the women have to take the children with to stores and other places. this women just had another child and a double stroller to help with a newborn and a 2 year old would be a huge blessing! we give gently used, clean ones - or you could purchase one. t

A church member has a college student, at New River Community College, in a class that is currently homeless along with his father. His father broke both his arms in a work accident due to faulty equipment. Since he is unable to work and the company has put a hold on workers compensation until July they are in need of assistance. The father is unable to work at least until he has surgery on both arms. Their current needs are food and gas for him to get back and forth to work and school.
