I am requesting assistance to help a young adult who is 18 years old and in foster care. He has been accepted to a university, and will be moving to his first Supervised Independent Living placement (SIL) College dorm outside of Houston. This is his first home that he will live in independently after living in foster homes. He is currently in his last semester of high school and expects to graduate in the end of May 2025. He is currently unemployed and has been diligently applying to part time jobs to help him cover his cost of living. He is in need of assistance of purchasing a mini fridge, school supplies (pens, binder, etc.), Tupperware, first aid kit, umbrella, shower cady for his dorm. Any assistance he would be grateful. Hello! This request is made in regard to two sisters, a five and a ten-year-old, who have been recently placed with their grandmother. Grandma is currently going through financial strife at the moment as bills have been rising such as her utilities and mortgage and is having a hard time affording twin bed sheets for the kiddoes. When asked the kiddoes interests, grandma stated that the girls really like spongebob and would, ideally, love bedsheets from that character, if possible. Thank you so much! God bless you all!

A foster teen boy is in need of a new twin mattress, 2 mattress protective covers, bedding and two extra twin sheet sets. The one he has needs to be replaced so he can be in a comfortable bed and get good rest.

Clothing Request for 16-Year-Old Youth in NYC Refugee Center

A 16-year-old boy, originally from Texas, is currently in a New York children’s refugee center after unexpectedly ending up in Mexico under unclear circumstances. Separated from his family and 1-year-old daughter, he is doing his best to stay positive while waiting to return home. His mother, who is actively working with the center to bring him back, shared that he currently only has a pair of shorts. He’s asking for basic clothing to help him feel more comfortable during this difficult time. We’re seeking donations of 3–4 polo shirts (size Medium) and 2–3 pairs of jeans (size 30x30). Your help can provide comfort and dignity to a young man facing deep uncertainty.

Please consider helping a family of 6 currently struggling due to financial issues, health, and loss of employment. The mother has been out of work since November but recently was able to gain employment and started this past week but will not receive her first paycheck for a couple more weeks; the father is disabled and home with the children. The family recently moved in their grandmother that has been ill and had nowhere else to go, and she experienced a recent hospitalization due to her health. The family has 3 children, ages 5, 10, and 15. The family has been trying to stay afloat by paying when they can but are struggling to cover their water and electric bills for this month. The family could use assistance with their water bill ($305.08) and electric bill ($139.02). Support would allow the family to cover their rent and car expenses, without the risk of their utilities being shut off. The family expresses gratitude and would be thankful for any support.

After 25 years of faithfully serving students and teachers in Orange County, one of our longtime Saddleback Church members is now facing the heartbreaking reality of potential homelessness. She is a compassionate, devoted college professor and mentor with a clear anointing on her life. Due to a sharp decline in student teacher enrollment, her income has been drastically reduced. Yesterday, she received a 3-day pay-or-quit notice and urgently needs $900 in rental assistance to avoid becoming homeless by this Friday. Next month she will begin receiving income from new jobs and expects to cover her rent going forward. However, she needs support to make it through May. She is single woman who lost her only child years ago; she has no family to turn to only her church family. With a Doctorate and Master’s in Education and a BS in Mathematics, she has dedicated her life to mentoring future teachers and guiding students in challenging STEM subjects. Her mission has always been to help students discover their God-given talents and pursue meaningful careers. Since 2012, she has also served faithfully in several Saddleback ministries. As National Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, let’s show support and gratitude to this sister in Christ who has poured so much into others. A church member has a college student, at New River Community College, in a class that is currently homeless along with his father. His father broke both his arms in a work accident due to faulty equipment. Since he is unable to work and the company has put a hold on workers compensation until July they are in need of assistance. The father is unable to work at least until he has surgery on both arms. Their current needs are food and gas for him to get back and forth to work and school. They have temporary housing with family but will need assistance with this need in the near future. If you can help or have any questions you can reach out to Austin Phillips.

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
