We are reaching out on behalf of a local family in need. This mom, who has faced some significant challenges, is hoping to find support in obtaining a stroller and infant car seat in time for the arrival of their new baby, which is due at the end of June. The mother, who is expecting her second child, also has a daughter who will be turning four around the same time. They do not have a car and rely on walking and public transportation for getting around. This means having a reliable stroller is essential for getting to appointments, the park, and other necessary outings.The family is specifically in need of a sit and stand stroller, one that can accommodate an infant carrier car seat and has the sit/stand option. While they are open to gently used items, they hope to get at least two years of good use out of the stroller and car seat. This family has been navigating life with limited resources, and meeting this need would greatly help them as they prepare for their growing family. A stroller like this would make a huge difference in their daily lives, helping the mother transport both children safely and easily, especially given that walking and public transportation are their primary modes of transportation. Safe Families is working with a single mom of two year old boy recently fled from domestic violence situation and is in their own apartment. Mom is dealing with some medical issues that will require surgery soon and she is unable to work. The social security disability check was short this month, for reason still unknown. This left her short on rent and she was just given an eviction notice. Mom is taking steps to handle this issue to insure next months rent will be paid as usual. She is also working hard for the medical needs of her and her son. Helping support this family will keep them stable in their current living situation and prevent them from being homeless.

This single mother is in need of furniture due to recent move and loss of house hold furniture. The school social worker did stop by the new home and dropped off some food and saw mom did not have furniture in the home

We have a 71 year old grandfather who is raising 3 grandchildren, 2 girls ages 9 and 12, and a boy age 16. The grandchildren are being raised by their grandfather because the children's father was shot and killed. The children are currently sleeping on the floor and grandpa is very hesitant at asking for help, but does not want the kids to be on the floor. Grandfather is looking for 3 twin beds and accompanying linens.

This client is moving into a Warren village and needs assistance with furniture and bedding. The parent is currently unemployed any help with any furniture new or used would greatly be appreciated by this family. They are in need of the following items: King size Box Spring, bedding for King size and girl bedding for a toddler bed, 2 dressers, dining room table for 4, couch, and window curtain. After 25 years of faithfully serving students and teachers in Orange County, one of our longtime Saddleback Church members is now facing the heartbreaking reality of potential homelessness. She is a compassionate, devoted college professor and mentor with a clear anointing on her life. Due to a sharp decline in student teacher enrollment, her income has been drastically reduced. Yesterday, she received a 3-day pay-or-quit notice and urgently needs $900 in rental assistance to avoid becoming homeless by this Friday. Next month she will begin receiving income from new jobs and expects to cover her rent going forward. However, she needs support to make it through May. She is single woman who lost her only child years ago; she has no family to turn to only her church family. With a Doctorate and Master’s in Education and a BS in Mathematics, she has dedicated her life to mentoring future teachers and guiding students in challenging STEM subjects. Her mission has always been to help students discover their God-given talents and pursue meaningful careers. Since 2012, she has also served faithfully in several Saddleback ministries. As National Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, let’s show support and gratitude to this sister in Christ who has poured so much into others. A church member has a college student, at New River Community College, in a class that is currently homeless along with his father. His father broke both his arms in a work accident due to faulty equipment. Since he is unable to work and the company has put a hold on workers compensation until July they are in need of assistance. The father is unable to work at least until he has surgery on both arms. Their current needs are food and gas for him to get back and forth to work and school. They have temporary housing with family but will need assistance with this need in the near future. If you can help or have any questions you can reach out to Austin Phillips.

The school has been working with a mom who was reunified with her children about a year ago. As a single parent she has needed extra support in keeping up with all of her kiddos and their needs. They've recently been accepted to move into a more affordable home at the beginning of June but they had to move out of their current place earlier than that. They are in need of a hotel room to hold them over until their rental is ready for move in. (The landlords are actually from MP!) The hotel is $84/night and we are hoping to cover 5 nights. There are several other churches claiming other nights as well!

We have a beautiful new family that arrived last week from Afghanistan. They came with nothing and currently the government funding is not available. we have helped the family secure housing and most of the furniture needed. they hopefully will move into the apartment in the next few days.

I am advocating for a mom of 2 who has had a stroke paralyzing her left side. While ordering a wheelchair for her, we discovered she is sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This mom has had three back surgeries and needs her bed high enough to be comfortably transferred in and out of bed and to be able to rest well. She is very humble and grateful for any help she may receive.
