Urgent need for a refrigerator! Harpeth Hills Church of Christ has been assisting a struggling family, and their refrigerator suddenly stopped working. The husband has stage 4 cancer and is unable to provide for the family.

A courageous mother from Peru came to the United States a few years ago seeking a better life for herself and her three children, who are currently being cared for by her mother back home. Since arriving, she has faced some difficult challenges. As a survivor of domestic abuse, she found safety and support in a women’s shelter, where she stayed with her infant son.

She first started attending Mesa Church over a year and a half ago, initially connecting through the women’s group, where she found community and support. Since then, she has placed her faith in Jesus and was baptized in February, opening her heart to healing and new beginnings.

Now, with hope in her heart, she dreams of starting her own baking business to support her children and build a brighter future. She is moving into a new apartment this weekend with her 19-month-old son (wears size 6 diapers) and is in need of furniture and essential household items. Since the initial report on 5/12, the mother and her children have been experiencing housing instability and were living in their car. The agency was able to assist by arranging temporary lodging for the family at a motel for several nights. After leaving the motel, the family began staying with a friend who offered them a place to stay for a couple of weeks.

The mother is currently employed at Publix and has reliable transportation. She is making every effort to provide for her children despite significant challenges. She reported that her husband, the children’s stepfather, has left the family and is refusing to offer any support or assistance. The children are ages 7, 9, 11, 14, and 15. The family could use any monetary support to help them buy groceries, gas, toiletries, etc.

A family of Seven is facing severe financial hardship, struggling to make ends meet despite ongoing efforts to find employment. Known in their community for giving back, volunteering and supporting the homeless, they now find themselves in urgent need. With rent due, utilities needed, and food scarce, their greatest concern is keeping a safe, stable home for their children- especially their youngest, just one year old.They are humbly asking for rent assistance , help with FPL bill, and food support to ensure their family remains housed and their children cared for as they navigate to bring stable income. The mother is working diligently in reunifying with her children. There are 5 children in the request, ages 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8. The court has given the mother one more month to work towards reunification in order to stabilize her home. Mother needs assistance with various items due to relocating to a new home. Her previous home was infested, due to an infestation in the complex, along with her furniture and other items. Section 8 has approved the family a new home. Mother has been resourceful and made great strides to reunify with her children. At this time, the family is requesting a double jogger (ex. Baby Trend Expedition double Jogger Elixer Stroller on Amazon), A wagon stroller for 2 kids (ex. Cargo-Travel push pull double wagon on Amazon), Booster seat for 4 year old, Car seats for children ages 3, 2 and 1. Mother and children will benefit from these items as it will facilitate mother's continued effort to appropriately care for the children and continue any service programs required by the court. The mother will be able to safely transport her children during these court-ordered programs and for childcare/school as needed, as well as regular grocery shopping and appointments. Mother will make sure to take care of the items and maintain them for on-going use.

These children were safety planned out of their home and placed into the care of their grandparents. the grandparents were working and needing help so both maternal and paternal grandparents are splitting time for the children so that they can maintain the placements. Both grandmothers lost their employment due to this placement so they are in need of support to care for the children.

A father recently took custody of his two children after their mother was arrested. He lives in a very small studio apartment and is now searching for bigger housing. He has identified food as a need for the family. Family Preservation services are connecting the family to community resources to assist. He is limited to what fresh/cold products they can have as the family does not have a full-size fridge due to the size of the space. A grocery gift card would likely be most feasible for the family. Knowledge of affordable housing options would also be beneficial as father is looking for a larger place relatively quickly.

Please help strengthen a bio-family. Mother and child currently sleep on the same bed but their bed has a broken frame. The family can really benefit from having a safe bed to sleep on. Mother's main source of income is her catering job where she cooks in her home then delivers the food. Unfortunately, mother's stove recently broke down as well. Mother cannot financially afford to repair or replace her stove and does not have any family or friends that could financially assist her. The family really needs to get their stove replaced. The family would really appreciate if you are able to assist them.

Dear Team Sherry, this is our final update! Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy are packing and preparing for the big move at the end of June. Kaya and Kennedy will move into their grandfather’s home in Yorba Linda and commute to Saddleback College. Kennedy graduated high school, got her permit, and will have her license soon. Kaya is carefully planning her transfer to Fullerton College in another year. Cameron remains in New York and is doing well. Sherry will be moving to Nevada to live with a longtime friend. It’s an emotional shift after many years living together, but this past year has been a gift. Thanks to your support, Sherry provided a stable home, helped Cameron begin a new path, supported Kaya’s growth, and celebrated Kennedy’s graduation all in their family home. While the family will no longer live together, they’re ending this chapter with something meaningful: Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy will all serve as volunteers at Royal Family Kids Camp in late June. It’s a full-circle moment, as giving back to other foster families has always been a passion of theirs. The client is seeking assistance with her South Central Power bill, which is scheduled for disconnection on June 3, 2025, due to a past-due balance of $349.60. She is able to contribute $100 toward the amount owed.

The client recently experienced significant hardship, including a divorce followed by a car accident that was not her fault. As a result, she was temporarily unable to work and fell behind on her bills. She has since returned to full-time employment and now has a sustainable income.

Given her current circumstances and demonstrated effort toward self-sufficiency, she has been referred to InterFaith for possible assistance.
