They have worked really hard on their home to clear out a room for the kids to stay in and have been motivated to help our children. A provider has recently taken in a new born child who was already tight on money before the baby was placed in their care. The provider has a family of 6 in the home the provider has already spent a lot of money getting everything ready for the child to include clothes, formula, diapers, etc. Due to the provider getting everything for the baby the provider is now in need of food for the home. The provider is asking for a $250 walmart gift card to be able to help with putting food in the home. The provider is thankful for any help that is received.

KINSHIP. The kin caregiver has been the primary caregiver for her 15-year-old nephew since 2023, when he was no longer able to remain with his parents. She has provided him with a safe, stable, and loving home during this time. The caregiver is a nurse and was employed full-time until the Palisades fire destroyed her workplace. Since then, she has been working on an on-call basis at various nearby facilities. Unfortunately, her hours have been significantly reduced, leading to a loss of income and financial strain. As a result, she has fallen behind on her rent payments. She is respectfully requesting rental assistance in the amount of $1500.00 to help her remain in her home. This support would provide much needed financial relief and help reduce the stress she is experiencing. Most importantly, it would allow her to continue offering a secure and nurturing environment for her nephew. With the support of her mother, who has a steady income, and her continued efforts to find stable employment, she is confident she will be able to recover financially. Hello. Lighthouse Church has been assisting a family of 5 who was homeless after losing their housing which was already temporary. The family member that was hosting them was unable to continue providing them space in her home. Lighthouse has covered the cost for the family to stay in a hotel this week and helped to secure stable housing. The family was approved for an apartment! The family is from Honduras, mom, dad, and three kids ages 17, 12, and 9. Their 17 year old daughter needs a kidney transplant, please pray for her. The apartment is on the west side of Madison. The maternal aunt has stepped in as an out-of-home safety monitor for her teenage nephew, providing him with a safe and stable environment while the family works through ongoing challenges. Unfortunately, the aunt’s food stamp benefits were recently hacked, leaving her without critical resources to feed her household. She is doing her best to provide for the teen and maintain stability, but with limited income and no access to her food benefits for the rest of the month, she is struggling to meet their basic needs. We are asking for support in providing assistance for their utility bill this month. Even the smallest amount helps!

A single mom unexpectedly lost her job causing her to be unable to pay her rent for the month of May placing her and her high school age child and child who is a young adult at risk for homelessness. She has already found a new job and is motivated to get back on her feet. Would you be willing to show this mom a little kindness? A young family from Afghanistan arrived in Holland a few months ago and is in need of support. While the dad speaks a few phrases in English, they primarily speak Pashto and have 4 children (plus one more on the way due in August). Their 10 year old son is currently enrolled at an elementary school on the northside of Holland. The younger siblings are a 5 year old boy and two girls aged 4 and 6 months. The father worked for the US Military in Afghanistan for 15 years before coming to Lansing with his family in 2021. He worked in a car factory in Lansing, but decided to come to Holland to be closer to friends when his family lost housing. The father is still searching for local employment, but is able to drive his own small car. They have borrowed funds for rent the past few months, but are running out of options. Any help would be a gift as we search for more sustainable income for their family!
