We have a single mother who is engaged in an intensive voluntary DHS case. She has been looking for employment. She found a job and was given a provisional job offer, but she needs a laptop and a printer. Client is only open to a new laptop, as she wants to ensure reliability for work and that it doesn't have any one else's personal information is on the laptop. She is open to a used printer. Walmart has windows laptops starting around $200. Wireless printers are about $55. Please be aware many newer models of laptops do not have USB ports, so a wireless printer may be needed. Client has looked into community resources and unfortunately, many grants have ended and therefore there are not programs available. The mother would like to accept the job offer by 5/14/25. So, this is a urgent need.

A mother of three (boys 6 and 4, girl 3) is unemployed and cannot keep her phone turned on. She cannot stay in touch with her treatment providers and is unable to communicate with her family time supervisor. This is impacting her ability to find better work, stay engaged with her children, and work towards reunification. A phone card would be so helpful to this mom and would help her stay on top of changing schedules and reunite her family. Thank you for your generosity!

A group home for boys in foster care is in need of some dishes. Over time the dishes break or get lost and they are down to very few. They have decided it would be best to get dishes that are microwaveable and dishwasher safe. They would also like each child to have their own color so they can learn to take care of their dishes by setting the table, cleaning up their own mess and washing their dishes. Life skills are such an important part of what they teach the boys in the home. They have found some dishes on the WROVA website they would like to have. Parents of five need help covering the costs of hair follicle drug testing so the courts can assess their progress.

Mom is a young, single mother age 20 with a 2 year old son. Mom's car is broken down and she believes it may be the alternator. Is unable to take the car to a mechanic to determine what is wrong with the car. Recently had to move back in with her mother due to expenses. Mom would like assistance in determining what is wrong with the car so that she has it to look for work and transport her son to daycare. She indicated she has a job available but no way to transport herself and her son at this time. Is there possibly a mechanic who could look at the car and help determine what is wrong so that we know how to help going forward?

2 senior individuals with disabilities were placed in protective custody due to living conditions exploitation sexual and physical abuse. We are asking for help with community resources that may be able to assist these 2 elderly disabled individuals with mentorship, gift cards for local fastfood due to where they were placed they only have access to a microwave. Any financial assistance would greatly be appreciated to ensure securement of their room at motel until further placement arrangements can be made. What we are needing is..

1. Financial assistance for motel for approx. 1 month and transportation
2. Resources for food,clothing,mentorship transportation,housing
3. fast food gift cards so these 2 individuals can have at least 1 hot meal.

A member of Doxa shared a request where they would benefit in having another bed since they assist their neighbor kids while their mom works doubles to make ends meet. Having a bed will allow her to serve the kids in having their own space when they spend the evenings over.

We are in urgent need of funding to purchase two mattresses (we highly recommend with waterproof covers) for a foster family who is working to get siblings placed in their home. As part of the placement transition, they will be hosting the children for some overnight visits soon and they have worked to purchase beds for their home. As a result, they are asking for help in purchasing the mattresses to put on the beds due to the sudden financial strain. These kids will be looking to make this home a permanent placement, so these items would be for use long into the future. Mom is in need of two window air conditioner units for her apartment. Currently, the children are not able to sleep in their rooms because of the temperature (either too hot in the summer or no heat in the winter). Mom also needs a twin size mattress for a bedframe that she has for her daughter.

I would like to say “thank you” on behalf of my family. Whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated. I know that this is a temporary situation because I will be back in the workforce as soon as we get the support we need to get going. My story is long, but I will make it as concise as possible. When I got married to my wife, she had a boy, whom I love dearly. He is on the autism spectrum. I bring him up because everything that is going on is hardest on him. I had a job selling cars, and I made many sales, but what was promised was not paid. I lost several months giving my all to a job that did not cover my bills. I got a new job driving a school bus. At that time, we were living in my father’s house. That’s when the twins arrived. This was too much for him. He was always in a bad mood. His temper always got the better of him. We were afraid for the babies. M and J were afraid to be there when I wasn’t there, and I was afraid for them. One night he just cam in to the room screaming at my wife saying what s going on since the babies were crying and Meghan was getting frustrated with the babies he seemed like he was ready to hit one of us how angry he seemed .at the the time we were holding the babies I had to make a hard decision to keep my family safe cause it would of just gotten worse. We left to stay at a friend’s house, where we are now....but we have to leave very soon. Now we have no income and no savings. Thank you again for listening and all of your help.
