The family is in need of a toddler car seat. The care giver has requested a car seat for the 2 year old child in her care. The children in her care have special needs and the caregiver’s full time job is caring for the children. Caregiver is the sole provider for the family and has focused on providing the child’s basic needs such as food and shelter and reports it would be a financial strain to her if she purchases the car seat.

A wonderful family lost everything in the Eaton Canyon Fire. They left with just the clothing on their bodies. In the loss was everything that the father uses for his career as a Content Creator and Editor. He was blessed with one computer, but the loss was 3 computers, monitors, hard drives, Editing tools, and instruments. He is able to do work still, just at a much slower pace due to the lack of equipment.They were renting the house in Altadena for the last 10 years. They unfortunately did not have renters insurance, so everything that they have needed to pay for since the fires has been out of pocket. When I spoke to the father, he cared about the equipment lost, but his biggest priority is getting housing secured. Right now the four of the family members are not able to stay together until they can secure an apartment. He was able to find an apartment that he can afford monthly, but the current issue is the first/last month rent and the security deposit.

Grandparents have Power of Attorney for their three grandchildren. Grandparents need clothing and shoes for the children. Grandparents have had to decrease their work hours to ensure childcare is covered. Grandparents and Mother have agreed to a Power of Attorney as an alternative to DHS opening a case and grandparents have supported the children fully for over 2 years. Mother does not provide any support.

The family also is in need of two toddler beds and bed frames as well as one booster seat.

Member shared that she is in need of one for her daughter. We are seeking a forward-facing car seat with a 5-point harness that can convert into a booster seat. This will support the child's growth and ensure her safety over time.

Providing this essential item will ease a burden on the mother and volunteers to ensure her daughter can travel safely and legally.

The caregiver is the maternal great grandmother who currently has placement of her 16 year old and 3 year old great grandchildren. She is 65, retired, and is in need of a deep cleaning service for her home (2 floors). Both children have extremely high needs, opposite schedules, and are both diagnosed with developmental delays and engaged many behavioral support services includeing ABA, Occupational therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech therapy, and behavioral health services weekly. The oldest child recently brought cats into the home that had 5 babies, and soiled their floors, and some furniture. Cleanliness was not a concern prior. Although the kittens have been rehomed, due to their presence, the children’s schedules, and the caregiver being a senior, the caregiver has only been able to manage spot cleaning, rather than a full cleaning and re-organizing of the home. A thorough deep cleaning and home organization would create a healthier, safer environment essential for the children’s well-being and therapy progress. This one-time support would relieve her stress, allowing her to focus fully on enriching the children’s lives and maintaining their placement in a safe, stable, nurturing home. The caregiver is also open to weekly meal drop off or ongoing support in other capacities.

Mother and dad of newborn have been living in their car for 14 months. Baby is now 2 months old. They both work and pay car payments but cannot afford to get established in an apartment or home. Baby is growing and they are in desperate need to have a different living situation for their family. They have been sleeping in a classroom on the floor of our church 3 nights a week, for this past month and the church cannot sustain this arrangement indefinitely. They are very polite, hardworking, clean and cooperative. We have prayed about this and believe a camper would be the best goal for them at this time. They can afford an RV park with utilities and start to get a lead on a permanent residence.

We are seeking urgent support for a family with two children at risk of losing stable housing. The family is currently facing eviction, with a balance of $3,587 due. If the balance is paid before the court date, they will be allowed to remain in their home. The mother is actively working side jobs and may be able to contribute a portion of the amount.

This support request is focused on preserving housing stability for the children, ensuring they are not displaced and can remain in a safe, familiar environment. Assistance toward this housing need would directly prevent trauma and disruption in their lives.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
