This request is to help a family pay for daycare while the mother is receiving care and unavailable to her child. This would assist the family with this unexpected expense and maintain the stability for the child.

We are holding our annual Kinship/Foster Parent Appreciation Celebration in June 2025! Kinship families are unique in that they take placement of children on an emergency basis who they have a prior relationship with in order to prevent children from being placed in the foster-care system.These families selflessly get licensed knowing the need in our community. They have to complete a rigorous process to open their home and cooperate with several agencies and the court system as well as be an advocate for the foster child in their home. If the community didn't have foster parents, more children would be in DHS offices without placement. Showing our appreciation will ensure we can maintain these vital resources in child welfare and hopefully encourage others to help in ways they are able and advocate for children with DHS involvement. The Kinship/Foster Care Unit is hoping to be able to provide gift cards through a raffle to each family at the event in the amount of $50 for grocery stores, Walmart or Target, or other locations in town where items for the family can be purchased. Another option is to provide specific items to raffle off to the families such as fun activities for the children or gift baskets, be creative!

We have a young man who is struggling to find a placement to go to. We are need some groceries/food while he waits on placement. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Mother and dad of newborn have been living in their car for 14 months. Baby is now 2 months old. They both work and pay car payments but cannot afford to get established in an apartment or home. Baby is growing and they are in desperate need to have a different living situation for their family. They have been sleeping in a classroom on the floor of our church 3 nights a week, for this past month and the church cannot sustain this arrangement indefinitely. They are very polite, hardworking, clean and cooperative. We have prayed about this and believe a camper would be the best goal for them at this time. They can afford an RV park with utilities and start to get a lead on a permanent residence.

We are seeking urgent support for a family with two children at risk of losing stable housing. The family is currently facing eviction, with a balance of $3,587 due. If the balance is paid before the court date, they will be allowed to remain in their home. The mother is actively working side jobs and may be able to contribute a portion of the amount.

This support request is focused on preserving housing stability for the children, ensuring they are not displaced and can remain in a safe, familiar environment. Assistance toward this housing need would directly prevent trauma and disruption in their lives.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
