A 16yo male recently returned to his foster home for two back to back elopements (2 days gone, one night home, 16 days gone). The youth needs something to fill his time in the summer and the foster parents are requesting a play station and age appropriate game/games to help him avoid boredom. This youth has experienced significant loss over his short lifetime including both biological parents, country of origin, adoptive parents, and all biological siblings and relatives. The foster parents have committed to seeing the youth through to adulthood, but will not allow him to return if he elopes again. They were previously unwilling to consider a gaming system, but think he needs one to help fill his time. The youth will appreciate a new or used gaming system and games.

A local Altadena woman is a teacher who lost her home in the Eaton Fire. She had a roommate who was paying her rent, which helped with her mortgage. Since the fires, she has now had to relocate paying the entire mortgage as well as rent at a temporary location. She is still waiting on her other insurance payments, but she has needed to pay much more out of pocket while she's waiting. I'm advocating to help this community teacher to pay two months of her mortgage ($2,200/mo) and rent ($1,210/mo) to help her gain her footing in catch up on payments so she can not only stay where she's at temporarily, but not fall behind on her mortgage payments. The total as is for $6,820 for two full months.

A biological parent of a youth in DHS custody, who has their own child in DHS custody, needs financial assistance to cover the gap between their monthly income and expenses. Specifically, the biological parent is requesting assistance with rent and/or utilities. The permanency goal is currently return home. Monthly income is $2800 Gross. Monthly expenses are $3137, including $960 Rent and $ 245 Utilities. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated and paid toward rent and utilities. The requested $337 represents the monthly gap as reflected on the budget provided to the caseworker.

A senior gentleman from Altadena is a veteran and has Alzheimer's. Right be fore the fire, his daughter and son were splitting their time taking care of him. The fire came and completely destroyed the entire property. Everything that he owned and even some of the items his kids moved in the house so they didn't need to worry about coming back and forth. What they found out after the fires was that his dementia was so bad insurance had lapsed and so there is no insurance to help cover any of the costs. Not even to cover clothing or essential items that he needs. Because of his medical condition worsening, they are no longer able to care for him directly and are needing to pay for care beyond what the VA is able to cover. He has had to move into his daughter's home while they are working on figuring out how to move forward with building the house back. This was an unexpected move for his daughter and is needing to buy items in the house that will be able to accommodate her elderly father. While understanding that cost of caregiving cannot be paid, I'm advocating for assistance in replacement of clothing, electric recliner, a mattress. new bed that is electric to help him get in and out more easily.This is also help the daughter be able to buy clothing that she lost in the fire that she moved in as well. I'm advocating for $5,000 to help with these expenses to ensure that he has the items that he needs that he lost from the fire in order to help him be comfortable.

There are two children, 8yr old boy and 5 yr old female. They were placed in Aunts home. Female is in need of clothing xs bathing suit, small shirts and sx bottoms, Male needs M shirts and size 8/9 in shorts and pants. The family would also like a bike for the male so he can ride a bike wtih his sister during the summer. The family would like a donation of $100-$200, for field trips for both children. CW can deliver those to the daycare personally.

The family is currently facing financial difficulties, struggling to make ends meet, with groceries running low and falling behind on this month’s rent by $300. A woman in Grace Church is caring for her wheel chair bound mother and needs a ramp built. She will provide funds for the ramp, just needs the building work done. As soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Urgent need for a refrigerator! Harpeth Hills Church of Christ has been assisting a struggling family, and their refrigerator suddenly stopped working. The husband has stage 4 cancer and is unable to provide for the family.

A courageous mother from Peru came to the United States a few years ago seeking a better life for herself and her three children, who are currently being cared for by her mother back home. Since arriving, she has faced some difficult challenges. As a survivor of domestic abuse, she found safety and support in a women’s shelter, where she stayed with her infant son.

She first started attending Mesa Church over a year and a half ago, initially connecting through the women’s group, where she found community and support. Since then, she has placed her faith in Jesus and was baptized in February, opening her heart to healing and new beginnings.

Now, with hope in her heart, she dreams of starting her own baking business to support her children and build a brighter future. She is moving into a new apartment this weekend with her 19-month-old son (wears size 6 diapers) and is in need of furniture and essential household items.
