Two children were removed from Mother's care and placed with Father. Father is doing very well with the children in his care and is needing additional supports. Father is in need of a washer to help wash his children's clothes to help provide for his children. Father has a limited income and has taken on two additional members of the household. It is just father and the two children now in the home. Father was able to obtain all necessary items to have the children with him. Father did not know the washer he has does not work until he went to go use the washer. Since having two children in his care while working with school schedule, including summer school, visit and other providers, father is still in need of a washer. This would be a huge help for father in the home and cut cost on his expenses by having to go to the laundry mat with two little children as well. Father is open for help and willing to communicate and engage.

This request is for securing an electric range stove and a refrigerator for a client who is in the process of transitioning into stable housing.

The client is a mother of three children, ages 4 months, 7 years, and 10 years. Her case was opened on April 30, 2025, to support her in obtaining housing. Our agency assisted her with securing the necessary funds to cover a $1,200 Metro Housing deposit. She has recently signed the lease for her new home through the Metro Housing program.

Unfortunately, the unit she has leased is completely unfurnished, and the landlord has not provided a stove or refrigerator. As the client is starting over with limited resources, these essential appliances are urgently needed to help her establish a safe and functional home for her children. The housing inspector will not clear the home for move in without the appliances. We recognize this could be a barrier.

The client currently receives SNAP benefits and child support payments. However, she is unable to return to work at this time due to the lack of childcare during third-shift hours.

We respectfully request your support in providing an electric range stove and/or refrigerator to help this family begin their new chapter with the basic necessities in place.

We have 10 youth that are in need of welcome kits for our housing program (different than the cleaning kits!).

Here is what we need: Hard Laundry Basket (to put everything in), Bath Towel, Full Size Sheets and Comforter, Pillows, Toilet Paper, Shampoo & Conditioner, Body Wash, Deodorant, Hair Brush, Chapstick, Laundry Detergent, Garbage Bags, Basic First Aid Kit, Toothbrush + Toothpaste, Body Lotion!

We have 8 new youth moving into our housing program!

We have 12 supportive housing homes for youth in Grand Rapids that are experiencing homelessness. Along with that comes providing these youth with cleaning kits. We like to provide these cleaning kits for youth to make sure they have all the items they need as they take the first step towards long term stability (and to help them keep their spaces clean and safe!). Items can be purchased from any store, even Dollar Tree - we aren't picky! Here is the the list of the specific items needed: Duster, All purpose cleaner, Toilet Cleaner, Fabric Refresher, Window Cleaner, Shower Cleaner, Disinfecting Wipes, Microfiber Cloths, Kitchen Sponges, Laundry Pods, Dish Soap, Scouring Pads.

This request is for a child who was held back from her grade level and is now working towards getting back towards her grade level. She has worked so hard on her education and is in need of more tutoring to be on her current level for her age (9). When the request is met, the requested funds will help create a supportive space for the youth and help support her in her education.

We were put in contact with a mom who is in need of beds for her kids. Please let me know if you are able to help!

Grace Chruch Family, a need in the community has come to our attention that we would like to help with. A mom needs help with an electric bill. She has 3 children ages 6, 2, and 5 months. The baby was born early and this has caused her to get behind on several bills. Thank you for any amount you feel led to fund.

Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.
