Story
A child was recently removed from their home in St. John’s County and placed with a relative in Duval County. This child has experienced significant trauma and adversity at a young age. Although the placement required relocation to another county, it was determined to be the best option due to the relative’s familiarity with the child and their specific needs. The child has begun to outgrow their current bed, and the caregiver recently moved into a new home to better accommodate her family. A twin bed, mattress, and bedding are being requested to support this transition. The child has been adjusting well overall, and the caregiver has been highly cooperative in completing the necessary steps toward becoming licensed and receiving financial support for the child’s care.
