I'm working with a young family—mom, dad, and their six-month-old baby—who just moved into their new apartment after experiencing homelessness. This move is a big step forward for them, and they’re doing their best to get back on their feet.

Right now, they’re having a tough time getting their belongings out of storage due to money and time constraints. They could really use a few essentials to help make their new place feel like home.

They’re in need of a mattress so they can finally get proper rest, and a dining table where they can eat meals as a family. These items would go a long way in helping them feel settled and supported during this transition.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

We’re reaching out on behalf of a local grandmother in the Boise area who is going through an incredibly challenging time. She is the full-time caregiver for her four school-aged grandchildren and is doing everything she can to provide for them, despite facing serious housing & financial instability and health issues. With no nearby family support and so much on her plate, this grandma could really use a helping hand from her community.

One of the most immediate and meaningful ways to support her right now is by helping with meals. This would ease her daily burden and make a big difference in giving her a bit of breathing room.

We are looking for someone to:

1. Drop off a freezer meal that she can heat up on busy days
2. Bring a home-cooked meal for her and the kids to enjoy that evening
3. Provide a gift card for meal delivery (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.)

This family is comprised of the father, mother, 4 y/o son, 3 y/o son, and 10-month-old son. The father is the only income for the family, and they are struggling to make ends meet. Mom is a stay-at-home mom to the three children. The family is in need of a crib sized mattress and crib bedding for the 10-month-old son. He has been co-sleeping with the parents.

This family is comprised of the maternal grandmother and her 15 y/o granddaughter and 11 y/o granddaughter. The grandmother stepped forward as a resource fir her grandchildren when their mother became incarcerated in another country. She has since quit her job due to the long hours so that she can provide adequate care to the children. The family is in need of two twin sized mattresses, box springs, bedding, and bed frames. The girls would like black sheets if possible.

Two young men, ages 10 and 15 recently moved to CO from TX to reside with their step mother. The boys came to CO with very little clothing and belongings. The step mom is asking for assistance buying some new clothes for the boys. The 15 year old is a bigger kid and needs big and tall clothes. She is requesting gift cards for any stores that have good clothes in the category Big and Tall

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
