This foster family took emergency placement of 4 siblings back in December of 2024. Recently, the courts decided to keep these children with this foster family. They are requesting bedding for the children. The 8-year-old boy sleeps on a twin and loves dinosaurs. The 3-year-old girl has a toddler bed. She really enjoys unicorns and likes pink. The twins sleep together on a twin bed. They are fascinated with butterflies and like pink and purple. If possible, they would like mattress covers as the twins and toddler are not yet potty trained. The foster mom feels being able to personalize their room with things they enjoy will make this feel like a real home where they are able to be happy and safe. Assistance with bedding is appreciated and very helpful in making their placement a positive experience.

We’re reaching out to ask for your support in caring for a family in Meridian — a devoted mother of two young children who is currently facing multiple chronic health conditions. Despite her deep love and commitment to her children, her health has made it incredibly difficult to keep up with the day-to-day tasks of maintaining her home.

She is doing her best, but the weight of her responsibilities, combined with ongoing health struggles, has become overwhelming. Right now, she could use the loving support of her community to help bring peace and order back into her home.

We're looking for volunteers who can assist with cleaning and organizing her home— even just a couple of hours during a weekend would be a huge blessing to this family.

An Aunt who is currently a Foster Parent is a caregiver for 14-year-old teenage twins and needs help with paying her Edison utility bill. The caregiver is a single woman doing her best to provide for the 14-year-old teenage twins. She has been caring for these 14-year-old twins since January of this year and has fallen behind on this utility bill, if this is not paid Edison will turn off services (the electricity) and the children will possibly lose their stable home that they have had for the last five months. The caregiver is in desperate need of assistance with paying her electricity bill to keep providing a stable, loving and safe home for the 14-year-old teenage twins. When this need is met the caregiver will be grateful for this assistance and the 14-year-old twin teenagers will not be in jeopardy of being taken out of the current home that they have been living in for the past 5 months, the 14-year-old twin teenagers will stay in the safe, loving environment with their aunt/caregiver.

I'm working with a young family—mom, dad, and their six-month-old baby—who just moved into their new apartment after experiencing homelessness. This move is a big step forward for them, and they’re doing their best to get back on their feet.

Right now, they’re having a tough time getting their belongings out of storage due to money and time constraints. They could really use a few essentials to help make their new place feel like home.

They’re in need of a mattress so they can finally get proper rest, and a dining table where they can eat meals as a family. These items would go a long way in helping them feel settled and supported during this transition.

We’re reaching out on behalf of a local grandmother in the Boise area who is going through an incredibly challenging time. She is the full-time caregiver for her four school-aged grandchildren and is doing everything she can to provide for them, despite facing serious housing & financial instability and health issues. With no nearby family support and so much on her plate, this grandma could really use a helping hand from her community.

One of the most immediate and meaningful ways to support her right now is by helping with meals. This would ease her daily burden and make a big difference in giving her a bit of breathing room.

We are looking for someone to:

1. Drop off a freezer meal that she can heat up on busy days
2. Bring a home-cooked meal for her and the kids to enjoy that evening
3. Provide a gift card for meal delivery (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.)

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
