I’m reaching out on behalf of a single mother and her toddler who are currently being supported through the Maternal and Child Health Program at the Douglas County Health Department. This family recently experienced a medical emergency that required the toddler to be hospitalized unexpectedly and undergo surgery. Due to this crisis, the mother was unable to work for approximately 2 weeks and is now facing significant financial hardship. We are reaching out to request gift cards for food and gas to help relieve some of the immediate burden she is facing. Any support you can provide would go a long way in helping this family stabilize during a very difficult time. Caregiver lives with her granddaughter, of whom she is the legal guardian, and they are currently experiencing financial hardship. Grandmother is currently not employed and is responsible for the care of her granddaughter. The family is in urgent need of a refrigerator, but does not have the funds available to purchase one. They would benefit greatly from a refrigerator donation to ensure there is always fresh food in the home and to improve their physical well-being. The family has been receiving services through Shields since December 2024. Thank you in advance for your support.

The mother of a middle school student in our programs is trying to get her to Grace Adventure Camp Horse Camp this summer! The scholarship still left $200 to pay, which isn’t accessible for the family. We’re asking for help to cover half of what’s left. Her parents are split up with multiple kids but are trying to surprise her with something special - can we help make that happen? She has been a consistent participant in our after school program and shown growth and enthusiasm

We’re reaching out to ask for your support in caring for a family in Meridian — a devoted mother of two young children who is currently facing multiple chronic health conditions. Despite her deep love and commitment to her children, her health has made it incredibly difficult to keep up with the day-to-day tasks of maintaining her home.

She is doing her best, but the weight of her responsibilities, combined with ongoing health struggles, has become overwhelming. Right now, she could use the loving support of her community to help bring peace and order back into her home.

We're looking for volunteers who can assist with cleaning and organizing her home— even just a couple of hours during a weekend would be a huge blessing to this family.

An Aunt who is currently a Foster Parent is a caregiver for 14-year-old teenage twins and needs help with paying her Edison utility bill. The caregiver is a single woman doing her best to provide for the 14-year-old teenage twins. She has been caring for these 14-year-old twins since January of this year and has fallen behind on this utility bill, if this is not paid Edison will turn off services (the electricity) and the children will possibly lose their stable home that they have had for the last five months. The caregiver is in desperate need of assistance with paying her electricity bill to keep providing a stable, loving and safe home for the 14-year-old teenage twins. When this need is met the caregiver will be grateful for this assistance and the 14-year-old twin teenagers will not be in jeopardy of being taken out of the current home that they have been living in for the past 5 months, the 14-year-old twin teenagers will stay in the safe, loving environment with their aunt/caregiver.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
