I am looking for help to reunify a family with their child. The father just recently started working full time overnights while the mother tends to their four children during the day. The parents are just getting back on their feet but struggling financially to be able to cover first and last months' rent. They are requiring some assistance to just get them into their apartment so we can start a trial home visit. The family has been homeless for a while and couch-surfing with relatives and that in itself has taken a toll on them. The mother is unable to work due to needing to supervise her young children plus the one child in care has very intense medical needs that require round-the-clock care. The father is trying to also during the day work with a friend of his, cutting grass and doing some landscape jobs on top of his full-time work to help bring in extra cash as fast as they can. I am hoping to help this family out with just the first month to get them started and give them that motivation to keep going. They will be able to afford the rent on a monthly basis but like I said we are just needing assistance the first month for them so we can get their child back to them in their home. The parents will be able to provide proof of a signed lease agreement as well.

I am seeking out help for a child who was just recovered from being on-run. Unfortunately, there are no family members what-so-ever involved in his case and this poor child has learnt to fend for himself most of his childhood and into his teen years. As hard as it is for him to accept help sometimes, he is in desperate need of just that. The child is currently staying with a friend who so kindly is willing to help keep him off the streets however he is in need of a bed, bedding and a pillow as he is currently sleeping on an air mattress temporarily. With this help, we are hoping to get a good home routine and regimen back up and started for him. We want him to feel comfortable and confident having his own items and get him back on track with meeting his goals in life.

Mother is a single mother of three children and is receiving specialized services for the two older children. Mother needs help with paying a registration fee of $500 for her child’s preschool. Child is currently attending Wiz Island Preschool located at 158 S Oxford Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004. Mother is financially struggling as a single parent. Mother would appreciate the assistance to pay for child’s preschool registration fee.

A devoted older sister has opened her home to care for her 9-year-old sister, stepping in as her guardian for an indefinite period. In addition to this new responsibility, she is a single mother to two children of her own, a full-time student, and works full-time. Despite her full plate, she is determined to create a safe and welcoming environment for her younger sister. While she has managed to secure a bed, she is struggling to provide the many other essentials, as her sister arrived with no belongings and clothes that no longer fit. She has been doing everything she can to meet these needs and is now reaching out for support to help ease the financial and emotional burden. Her sister has been wearing some Juniors size 12/14 however the older sister believes that Women's small would be a better fit. She came only with a pair of sandals and so she is in need of shoes (Size 6/7) , clothing, and a rain jacket or some sort of Spring coat. More specific clothing need details would be best determined with the help of the sister upon making contact. She will need bedding for the twin bed and the sister noticed that her little sister is not really drawn to bright girly prints or colors but is drawn to the more neutral colors like black and white.

I’m reaching out on behalf of a single mother and her toddler who are currently being supported through the Maternal and Child Health Program at the Douglas County Health Department. This family recently experienced a medical emergency that required the toddler to be hospitalized unexpectedly and undergo surgery. Due to this crisis, the mother was unable to work for approximately 2 weeks and is now facing significant financial hardship. We are reaching out to request gift cards for food and gas to help relieve some of the immediate burden she is facing. Any support you can provide would go a long way in helping this family stabilize during a very difficult time. Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
