The client is currently 35 weeks pregnant and facing a high risk pregnancy. She is a fulltime working mother of two children but is currently experiencing financial hardship. As she prepares to go on maternity leave, she recently discovered that her short term disability benefits on which she was relying were mistakenly canceled, leaving her without the income she expected during this critical time. This unexpected situation has caused significant stress, particularly as she tries to prepare for the arrival of her baby while continuing to support her family. The client is in urgent need of assistance, specifically requesting a car seat and stroller. These essential items are necessary for the baby’s safety and well-being, especially for transportation to medical appointments and other important needs.

If this need is met, the client will be better prepared for the safe arrival of her newborn. Receiving a car seat and stroller will help ensure the baby’s safety and allow the client to focus on her health and recovery during maternity leave without the added financial burden. It will also provide a sense of relief and stability during a challenging time, supporting a smoother and healthier transition into the postpartum period for both the client and her family.

Single teen mom is expecting her 2nd child in early June and needs your help! Prior to resigning from work due to a high-risk pregnancy, the young mother was able to secure clothing, bottles, and a bassinet while still caring for her 2 year old son. Teen has been in care since a very young age following the demise of her mother. She will soon age out and has no support outside of the agency or dependency system as her father is incarcerated. She is unable to work due to pre-eclampsia concerns and at this time has been focused on staying healthy and in good spirits for herself and her children. This help will not only bring hope to this young mother and motivate her to keep pushing to be the best mother to her children but also provide a peace of mind. Mom does not have a car and travels by bus or share-ride. MCCS placed a child with paternal aunt on a safety plan due to father not being able to continue to care for the child @ this time, and mom is not here. Aunt wants to provide the child with his own space and the ability to get rest but has limited income to purchase a bed because of the urgency of the placement. MCCS is requesting Careportal assistance with a twin bed set. Thank you for your help with this matter!

Household is single mother with 2 children - 4yo F and 2y F and a safety plan monitor. Mother just lost her job, and is actively looking for new employment. Mother currently does not have transportation, and was unable to use Lyft or Uber due to not having car seats.

Carseats are being provided to the family, but due to the mother not having a job, she is behind on rent. Rent Cost as of right now with late fee’s is $213.40 (may increase if the apartment complex adds another late fee). Electricity is also behind at $240.78. The mother will reach out to CPS Energy to make payment plans, but would to be caught up on both payments, if possible.

A mother is no longer able to take her medication since she cannot afford and no longer able to pay her bills and work. She is taking the steps to get her medication started back up for physical and mental state. Since she is not able to work due to having her disability she is not able to afford her rent. She has an eviction notice and needing to get her rent paid in the next 3 days. She currently has 3 children living in the house, an eight year old, 13 year old, and a 17 year old. She is a single mother and is never late with paying her rent. She could use all the help that she could get in order to prevent homelessness for her family.

A family with a child with special needs (seizure disorder and autism) is seeking assistance for a small portable air conditioner. Initially mom thought that the landlord got this fixed but as the days get hotter the a/c cannot keep up. The child’s seizures worsen with heat and the mom is about to undergo a surgery. Does anyone have a used portable a/c that can be donated? Or can you find it in your heart to donate to this cause?

Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.
