The Kinship placement is needing daycare for the child placed in their home and they are now in need of daycare for the child. The kinship mother is going back to work and they need daycare. They found daycare but the child cannot start until July. The daycare is asking the kinship mom to pay 500 to hold the child's spot and its the only daycare that had an opening. 16 year old teen girl is placed in a foster home in Wichita long term. However her aunt is in KC and is an ongoing support. She will be providing a week long respite while the foster home is out of town, but is limited on her income and has two other children of her own. She is needing support with groceries for the week while the foster child (her niece) is with her. Gift cards for Walmart, target, or other grocery stores are accepted or payment for groceries.

This request is for a young mom of two children, ages 5 years and 2 years. She just learned that she is pregnant and is most likely near the end of the first trimester. Mom and her children have allergies and frequent illnesses. The condition of this family's home appears to be affecting the family's health detrimentally. There have been several instances of leaking and flooding in the living room and the bedrooms in the past year which has damaged the carpet and caused mold to develop in the bedrooms and in the carpet. The maintenance dept at her apartment complex has addressed some of the leaking issues, but not the problem of the moldy carpet or the mold.

The family could benefit from a dehumidifier, an air purifier, and a vacuum with a HEPA filter to help remove the moisture and significantly reduce the amount of allergens in the home. Mom is not currently working outside the home and has no income of her own. She is supported with a small stipend by the children's father but does not have enough to pay for the items mentioned. If the family can do some mitigation on their own, it will improve the children's and mom's health and well-being while they wait for the carpet to be removed. I am certain that this will make a positive difference.

An infant is placed with a kinship provider. The request is for child proofing items (plug protectors and cabinet door safety locks) to ensure the child does not access items that are not safe, a baby gate so the child is safe at the top of the stair, a MINI crib (not a full size crib...there is not room for a full size crib) to ensure safe sleeping and sheets for the MINI crib.

Grace Chruch Family, a need in the community has come to our attention that we would like to help with. A mom needs help with an electric bill. She has 3 children ages 6, 2, and 5 months. The baby was born early and this has caused her to get behind on several bills. Thank you for any amount you feel led to fund.

A family with a child with special needs (seizure disorder and autism) is seeking assistance for a small portable air conditioner. Initially mom thought that the landlord got this fixed but as the days get hotter the a/c cannot keep up. The child’s seizures worsen with heat and the mom is about to undergo a surgery. Does anyone have a used portable a/c that can be donated? Or can you find it in your heart to donate to this cause?

Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.
